All of the horoscopes share a common theme. The secret of each horoscope: Aries The King in Yellow. Though written by Robert Chambers, elements of this story were adopted into this author's mythos. Taurus Herbert West - Reanimator Gemini The Rats in the Walls Cancer The Whisperer in the Darkness Leo At the Mountains of Madness Virgo The Haunter of the Dark Libra The Dreams in the Witch House Scorpio In the Vault Sagittarius Cool Air Capricorn The Thing on the Doorstep Aquarius The Lurking Fear Pisces On the Pyramids From these the common theme should be easy to discern.

Is the title sufficient, or does one need to actually read the stories?

Is the title sufficient, or does one need to actually read the stories? Move on, it will become clear.

HI! I'm definitely late to the game on this issue! I see the names, I see the author. I do not know what I'm looking for beyond this. Any assistance would be fantastic

Jessi, if you're tackling Volumes 1 and 2 now, these are VERY different than Volume 3 in terms of how the answers work. Throw all of your assumptions out the door and just gather information as you go through each issue. When you complete the last issue in each Volume, you'll know what information is relevant and what isn't.

I'm working on the first vault answer and I'm not sure about it either lol

The Vault is a cumulative thing in Volumes 1 and 2. You can't do it issue-by-issue.
Come back to it after you finish Volume 1 Issue 5.

Just got the catch-upp set and am working my way through in order because I'm a masochist apparently. Is there any relevence to Aries not really fitting the pattern? Or was it just put there to drive anal-retentive types like me nuts trying to work out the significance?

Or was it just put there to drive anal-retentive types like me nuts trying to work out the significance? Nope, no significance as far as we know. Also, it's actually quite important to work through everything in order (especially with Volumes 1 and 2), so keep on keeping on! Feel free to PM if you have any specific questions that you think would be too spoiler-filled to post publicly.

I think the only significance the Aries reference is a nod to to the author of the King in Yellow.
The author of the other works referenced in these Horoscopes incorporated references from the King in Yellow in some his work.

I've solved this... is there anything I need to do with this info now? Just hold onto it for now. As you progress, you'll eventually see what to do with it. This, by the way, will be a very common thing in Volumes 1 and 2. Just record everything and it will likely come into play later on.
