Is it my imagination or has the price of The Century Beast dropped by $100? It is now listed at $299 on the Experiences page. I feel fairly certain it was $399 for Black Friday last year and I think it was along the lines of $320 USD (including shipping) for the Kickstarter.

I was thinking the same, but actually...

But actually... so they did drop the price a couple days ago, on September 3, 2016?

I would think so - the Experience probably did not sell all too well at the former price.

Someone please tell me that I'm not crazy: the MPC's website now lists "The Century Beast" for $299. Wasn't it only recently priced at $399?

Oops: looks like a mod moved my post here. I'm not crazy!
Won't a price reduction of 25%, $100, annoy a lot of folks who spent the full price of $399? (Even if we did receive it first?)

Likely, but people were also pointing out that the price was a bit steep to begin with. I suppose that a lot of new members - and Filigree in Shadow will likely bring on a lot more of those, I received the expedited membership invitation minutes after I pledged - will more often than not decide that two more envelopes with paper items and one containing an audio recording are not worth paying twice as much as the other experiences, so to sell that Experience probably meant for the Company to reduce the price.

You can certainly color me annoyed. But at this point, hardly surprised. It wasn't worth the $399 I paid for the Kickstarter even with the "bonus" materials. Now that they've recognized it lacks the value they had assigned to it, it would be nice if they began reaching out to make amends. ...but I'm not holding my breath.

I am pretty sure that when I first looked at CB a couple months ago it was 299. I started with The Weeping Book at 99 because I wasn't yet convinced 299 for a "story" would be a good purchase. But I continued to long for it for several weeks until people started trashing it in the forum. Then I decided I was lucky to have set it aside.

"Risen" is a terrific experience however, at least according to the person I sent it to.

Remember months ago when I said that they would do this... I will be honest, I've already pledged for Filigree. But with the realization that they dropped the price, lower than even the Kickstarter Diamond Level, I may withdraw from this KS... The KS version I received only got a few items different than the retail, yet I paid a good bit more for it than what they are offering, and I have seen nothing in the form of amends for this... I wish to remain optimistic, Filigree seems wonderful... but this is, unsettling... Sorry to vent.

While it is common that Kickstarter pledges are somewhat cheaper than the retail price of the product being funded, there is never a guarantee that the product will not be available at a reduced price later on. I assume that the Company would much rather sell The Century Beast at the original price than at a price that has been reduced by 20 percent.
While I agree that a missive detailing, for example, what became of the online portions of the Experience would have gone a long way towards clearing the air, I doubt that the Company could reimburse every backer by 25 percent of their pledge. You pointed out in another discussion that you received something extra with the Very Personal Note; if you are referring to what I believe you are, I took the inclusion of this as a olive branch with regard to the perceived shortcomings of the Experience and its first production run.

That is very true, perhaps that was the intent of such a gift as that... Sometimes a straight answer would be appreciated, but then again that would take away from what makes this experience and company great I guess.

Sometimes a straight answer would be appreciated, but then again that would take away from what makes this experience and company great I guess. I expect opinions about the issue whether the Company should keep their business side, such as customer services separate from the mirage they have created for themselves, differ greatly between members of our little society - personally, I believe that this is indeed part of what makes this company special, but then again, I never had to deal with grave, persistent issues, and every inquiry I have made has been answered promptly and to my satisfaction.

Mine have generally been answered promptly, and generally to great satisfaction. But there were times, dire times of tested patience, that I went days, even weeks with no reply. I am a generally patient person, buying from overseas often and generally without tracking and such, but sadly I was tested with these extreme delays, but I see Filigree will be held until they have the experience completed, and that brings me hope to restore good faith. But, then again, it wouldn't really take much to do so with me since I love the idea of this company and the experiences they provide.
