I still haven't actually played this, but I think I finally have some friends (lol) so we may be playing soon! Excited! I wonder if there is some online version that can be played by a group in different cities?? Perhaps! That would actually be really cool since some sort of digital moderator would be helpful. As stated above, one of the downfalls of the game is that if you aren't good at ignoring what you aren't supposed to read, you can spoil some stuff accidentally. But I haven't actually played it yet so who knows! After I play a mystery I will toy with the idea of maybe being that moderator and just taking on the task of typing a lot. It certainly wouldn't be a game that would only last an hour obviously but could still be fun. Especially in a PM thread or something.

Or we all have the game and number the cards on the back so that we each know which card is being picked up without having to read them or if they are to be read we know which to read at the same time kind of thing.

If everyone had a copy of the map and directory then all you really need is a GM to prepare by typing in the entire case first, then as people choose locations s/he cuts and pastes the relevant sections to the relevant people = and I guess the team also has an open window to discuss things (and not post their updates verbatim)

It cost $40 and has 10 mysteries in it that do not have a replay factor unfortunately. However, each mystery is supposed to take one to two hours and I've read online that some people have taken up to three. So if you divide it all out, it's still cheaper than seeing 10 movies and if you involve friends in the mix, I think it's a good deal. I've also been told that you don't need to write in any of the materials, so it can be gifted or resold later. I am holding off on solving any of the mysteries solo so that I can get the most out of the game, but I will report back after game play on how I liked it. boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2511/sherlock-holmes-consulting-detectiveOh yes! This game is a treasure.
