As always, there were several pictures in this issue not in any direct relation to the articles in the paper.

We now have confirmation on the solution. Given the correct answer, below are some more specific picture descriptions: Compound 1: Stolichno, it is a type of BOCK beer, and a SCAR on what appears to be a woman's hand. Cartoon of a man and child: More specifically it is a cartoon of a FAT MAN and a LITTLE BOY. A mushroom: a MUSHROOM, again, don't over-think it. Tree: More specifically, it is an ASH tree. another theory has been that the leaves on the tree are colorful, so the picture is depicting that it is FALL OUT.
Both interpretations of this image are helpful in acquiring the commonality.

I'm certain that I have the correct commonality for these pictures, and glancing through this thread appears to have confirmed that, but I cannot seem to phrase the answer the way that the vault wants.
