Inwasn’t going to. But Inordered when I saw Todd’s stamp of approval. 😄 I like Field Notes as a brand, but I've always felt that they were a little pricey for what they were. Seeing a puzzle themed set from them with the approval of the folks here wasn't something I could pass up lol. Especially if they're reminiscent of C&C 1&2. And Happy Thanksgiving to whomever it applies!

Have you solved all of the dot code pages? They tell you how. If you're somewhat stuck on those, a look to the back cover is in order. I know that the inside pages need to be decoded using the back cover but HOW? Not sure how to apply the braille or semaphore, or pigpen.

A magnifying glass is useful. Or you can do what I did, which is to scan the pages and print them out on 8.5" x 11". Each page uses only one cipher method. If, for example, you're looking at page 5, there will be no Braille or semaphore. Pay very close attention to the shapes of the dots. The ones that are irregular aren't that way because they cut corners. it's up to you to fill in the gaps. While some pages only have two types of dots, most have three or more. I'm happy to help further. I'm out of practice treading that line between providing helpful hints and giving it away, so in other words, it's probably me and not you.

I haven't made any additional progress yet on the UV puzzle. I did locate the associated Twitter account, which leads to a password protected Tumbler account. Not sure if it's for this or the Subscriber's Only puzzle.

For page 5
There are only a few circles surrounded by all the dots. I can't make out what cipher to use. Do I connect them.

That one's all about position. You'll notice that, while some rows have more than one anomaly, there is only one per column. Once you realize how close you are to the top in each, remember what I mentioned about the ciphers coming "in order".

if I treat each column as dots marking the alphabet, I only get a jumble of letters- all consonants. Is this a "key" for a cipher?

The Clandestine video on their website ends with: 0j'a d6j wduhgfjw3 0d u63w j6 3wu0f7wh 0j bsjwh, 0j'a wduhgfjw3 0d u63w j6 3wu0f7wh 0j d6e, which is almost certainly a cipher of their company motto, "I'm not writing it down to remember it later, I'm writing it down to remember it now." The number of characters doesn't match up, which means something's up. It's not encrypted in code to decipher it later, it's encrypted in code to decipher it now."

Great find, these look really good. I’m a fan of the design of the field notes books too. I put them on my Christmas list but I kinda want them now!

These were advertised on this mornings Morning Edition NPR show during the puzzle segment with Will Shortz. That may have just put me over the top.

What happens when you are away from this site for too long and then read up....Yep, empty wallet again.

Had another chance to sit down with it today. Thanks to Todd's hint about which cipher coincides to which page, I was able to get my ID card filled out. The Field Notes Twitter account has also directly linked to the in-game Twitter account now, and the in-game website is easily accessible. Sandor also stopped by another forum I frequent, and said that the main conversation will be happening on a Slack channel. Despite my deep, vitriolic disdain for Slack, I suppose I'll be diving in. It looks like this is going full-ARG, so here we go!
edit: I cannot stop laughing. The actress they hired to play our contact/leader had such a good thief/assassin vibe going, but then as soon as she started talking in the selfie video, she loses all mystique. She sounds like she's doing an unboxing video or something, not asking for our help to unravel a conspiracy.
