In Amnesty Episode 8 at 30:30 the McElroys discuss their collaboration with MPC. So I listened to the podcast with the description about the product and it really seems to me that this is something for those that follow and listen to the McElroys podcast. Also, the MPC description talks about the fact that this product is "jam-packed with Adventure Zone references". So since much of what this is about is going to be lost on me because I don't listen to the Adventure Zone podcasts. I'm going to pass.

It's easier to find 100 people to give you a dollar than one person to give you a hundred dollars. Plus the people who gave you a dollar are more likely to think they got a fair value for their price.

I think looking at the comments on FB then you are clearly correct here - it's a real fans-only deal, which is cool if that's the direction MPC are choosing to go, it's just not for me.

I also wonder if this is partly a consequence of the MPC getting rid of their creative team at the end of last year. I could see them making a pivot towards producing physical artifacts for other companies/creative groups. In fact, that would probably be their most profitable move, as sad as it might be for us here who loved the uniqueness of their work.

I'd be interested to know where their creative team, the ones responsible for the artifacts, went... and maybe to follow them...?

I just heard someone say that MPC has abandoned their own fandom and is now courting The Adventure Zone's fandom. I though it was an interesting way to put it.

I think I'll keep giving my money to J.K. Rowling and loot crate to satisfy all of my needs to pretend I'm a wizard. I've already got my owl letter, a wand or two, and some other lovely trinkets. Plus the resale value on ebay exceeds the cost of my crate every month.

Something from Facebook that might make you chuckle: note the comments--only two! First Kapalka, then mine in response.

I'm sorry, but that's a hideous looking pin. And I'm not referring to Geodus' concept pin.

It sure ain't pretty. Pins like this are made in China. They cost so little it's not funny. Thus you can make a six-fold profit very easily.
