Hello everyone,
We are finalizing a new board game project, called "Apocalypse - Episode 1: Sign of the Cross".
It is what could be called an "escape game in a box". Unlike the "Unlock" or "Exit" series, or the PnP games that exist here and there, there are real objects included. It is more similar to The Werewolf Experiment, but with no time limit (it usually lasts 2h-4h) and more ARG (alternate reality gaming) interactions.
In this cooperative game, players open a box filled with documents & objects left by a serial killer. They have a few hours to link everything together, crack puzzles and open padlocks, in order to solve the case -- i.e. find the next victim before it's too late. It is a dark story interwoven with religious references and a tinge of erotica; a cross-over between "Seven", "Zodiac", "Da Vinci Code" or Jack the Ripper.
We have finalized the first box, and are now trying to launch a Kickstarter campaign before the summer. We are also still prototyping a series of smaller games (shorter game time and less objects), and all suggestions are welcome!
If you're interested, check out our website. We have also launched a free online puzzle on YouTube:
Would you be interested in the game? By reading former discussions, I know that a lot of you would be more interested in on-going investigations rather than one shot scenarios, and this is also something we're considering to do, with way more ARG interactions.
Thanks!
