I don't know if these are quite what people here might be looking for, but I've been having a lot of fun with both of these games (made by the company Alice & Smith, which has made some cool ARGs over the years) lately. Here's a spare Black Watchmen Season 1 steam key, if anyone's interested...I'm pretty sure it's unused? Please let me know if you use it so I don't offer it elsewhere! PEJ60-N669H-JT3KM key has been used— enjoy! The Black Watchmen "A PARG (Permanent Alternate Reality Game), like The Black Watchmen, uses the real world as its game world, blurring the lines between fiction and reality. You'll find yourself investigating in-game & online, using the web and interacting with websites, companies and NPCs we have created." Nite Team 4"NITE Team 4 is a hacking simulation and strategy game with RPG elements that is integrated in The Black Watchmen Alternate Reality Game universe." I believe you can still check out the alpha for free here (direct download link cdn.niteteam4.com/builds/release/nt4.zip) Apologies if they've already been discussed and I missed it in my search somehow! Edit: I just remembered that Nite Team 4 is doing a...thing? right now. Browser-based hacking-style puzzle event thing. I'm just starting it now, so I'm not sure if it deserves a glowing recommendation or not but here andromeda.niteteam4.com/and Black Watchmen sent out some case-subject background info you can peruse here, archive call # 5B7F20

Oh, I did love playing The Black Watchman, but I did not manage to stick with it - it would be great fun to go back there. I participated in the reconnaissance mission and extraction planning during operation FALCONREACH, but most of the operations were resolved far too quickly for my taste. The video game part was great fun as well, requiring all sorts of puzzle solving - although I believe that some of the more experienced sleuths around here would not find all of the missions very challenging.
As for NITE Team 4, I have not tried this one yet - I make it a general rule to play kickstarter funded games only after they come out of beta.
If you are enjoying the style of Alice & Smith, you might also like Ahnayro: The Dream World, by the way. The game stands entirely on its own and is heavily based on researching real-world events and people, often based only on a number of images provided, and is very in tune with their usual style.

I found Black Watchmen fun but ultimately aggravating, as they're often looking for ULTRA-specific answers to be able to move forward. I remember a special event they had a long time ago now that had to do with the history of hip-hop music and culture. It was very fun and engaging and led to some fascinating research, but then there was a question about a graffiti artist that was vague. I did hours and hours of research, put in every possible answer I could find, and it turned out that it was looking for an extremely obscure nickname of an also obscure graffiti artist that there is no way anyone would logically answer with. Haven't gone back since.
