I think most of us can agree that the change in who's running things could go many ways, since right now the forums don't have much to talk about let's spice things up. What do you think could be the next thing we see, or where do you think the company is going from here.
With the talk of this being due to low profit, I personally believe we will see another kickstarter. If this happens I want to be completely blown away, amazing story, hook, multiple crates/artifacts even. Ultimately I just want this new team to earn our trust and Interest. I know murder mystery is coming out but we haven't heard a thing about it so for now I'm keeping that in the back of my mind.

Unless they stashed a good bit of money away, I think they'll go out of business.

I agree. And since it so often seems that one hand does not know, what the other is doing, there may be lack of good management also. Chaos on a sinking ship and they are throwing away the cargo.

More like trying to make as much money in a very short time. Maybe some huge debts have to be paid soon?

If you want to talk about what I would love to see - my ideal dream product- I have to say, I would pass on Experiences. I want more of C&C type products.
A very small production, to a very small client base, of high quality puzzle-filled mysteries with a great ARG story similar to the OSS and SZ battle. I would be willing to pay a premium price for a more story with websites, and audio and video and real-life hidden objects, like Volume I & II and more puzzles like Volume III of C&C.
It is because of my wish for something like that that I filled out and mailed in the Global Detective Agency application. This website was only sent out to those who subscribed to Volume 4.4 of C&C....and the few on this Board who read our posts about it and discovered the website that way. So it is a small, select group. They further narrowed down the field by requiring that people, print out, fill in and mail the application. Not every who got the card about the website or saw the posts on the forum did that. So now MPC has a small group of people who sent in the application. Granted, they do not have our email addresses. Maybe they can find our accounts by our names and addresses in their databases, but maybe they are taking those applications and are going to mail out more information to this select group [that personal MPC touch we all remember] that will ultimately lead to something really exciting and worthy of the name MPC.
I hope so...I really really do. Time will tell.
BUT truthfully, honestly I don't think they are going to continue either...and I have a feeling that if they do, what they offer is not going to be something I want to purchase.

I would love to see them return to something more akin to the old CnC but with added augmented reality aspects. The trouble is that CnC is such a huge amount of work, more than you would think. Writing a story with interconnecting puzzles and artifacts, plus adding in websites and real world interactions, is just not doable for a small audience. Even at a premium price. I hope it works out for them I really do, and if and when a new team starts working on something I hope they can surprise, delight and challenge us once again.

I do understand that it is really not possible from a financial perspective. I was just talking about my ideal dream product....I am aware that it is far from realistic.

I hope it works out for them I really do, and if and when a new team starts working on something I hope they can surprise, delight and challenge us once again. Having worked on some (much) smaller experience, I have an inkling of how much work must have gone into C&C. Even the most-straightforward puzzles are an incredible amount of work -- this week I'm trying to set my first 15x15 themed crossword for a puzzle hunt and that alone is a huge investment of time. I'm amazed that C&C was able to be offered for the price it was, and I very much doubt it ever became profitable for MPC. The business problem is that many consumers only see the cost of physical goods ("oh, it's just a paper and a few extras, why is this $30?") and don't really have any insight into the development costs to get them created (I'm guessing a small team working 6-9 months). Increasing the COGs with the artifacts and more chatchkes in V4 probably only compounded this problem. Perhaps MPC hoped this would increase the audience enough that development costs could be amortized over a much larger subscription base. Given the cancellation of C&C, the subscription goals were most likely not achieved.

So on the Facebook group someone posted a customer service letter stating that they aren't going out of business, so that's kinda good I guess

Then I am probably in the minority. I don't care that much for C&C. I bemoan the experiences they had. This was a great way to immerse yourself into a fantastic tale from the comfort of your home, much more real than any book. There are dozens of companies which offer riddles, escape rooms in a box, murder mysteries etc. There was (is) only one company which did offer the kind of tactile stories I came to love. Hopefully someone else will pick up this idea.

I don't think they are anywhere near as good as MPC but I'm enjoying the one I am receiving...the Chalice and Spear.

Yes, I did. Unfortunately I can't read much of his scribble. So that's a pass for me.
