I keep getting solicitations from the MPC telling me that I can get $25 off the sale price of $199 if I buy Hunt for the Forgotten Tomb, which we might now be able to re-title Hunt for the Forgotten Customer.

Except the code (theoretically) only works on John Augur. Unless you got a different one.

My current plan is to wait until they *really* discount it and threaten to archive it.

Not sure if it is poor sales, but thinking instead it is a desperate need for income. Without the quarterly income from C&C to help pay the bills, all they have to rely on to keep the lights on and pay the rent is sales from the Experiences. So they probably have a need to sell quite a few Experiences each month to cover the overhead.
It should be a strong incentive for them to create, advertise, market and sell whatever their "mystery" is. The fact that they have advertised absolutely nothing about it to the general public- not even dropped hints that something new and different is coming - makes me wonder if the company decided not to continue on.

Maybe their "mystery" is when will they go out of business?

Maybe their "mystery" is when will they go out of business? I wonder what the sad backstory to all this might be. Seeing such an unique company to destroy itself is a pity. Does anyone have some infos on this?

Does anyone have some infos on this? I'm sure someone "thought" they could make more money than someone else, and so began the take over. That or on the less likely side, possibly a personal vendetta only way to explain such a slaughter

I believe that's most likely. Attempted too much, under capitalized, forced to sell. And here's what you get.

While MPC certain did earn our patronage over the past several years, we have no idea whether they were financially successful. It might be the case that they were losing money year after year and only through continued investment by one of the owners did they manage to stay afloat. If that were the case, it would not at all be surprising if such an investor eventually stepped in and said, "the business model has to change; this isn't working financially."
My guess is that they will stop selling experiences along with C&C, and try to do something new that is more mass market and with lower costs of goods.

However, the way they’ve been handling that transition these last couple of months, with poorly announced sales, constant spam-like emails, an Orders page on user accounts that is corrupted, not answering emails from customers for weeks on end, and not even marketing their possible new product to anyone outside of a bunch of disgruntled former subscribers of C&C, suggests a company in extreme turmoil.

I agree with all of your insights. I do miss missives from The Curator!

They are now selling this as a single-crate experience, and only limited quantities remain. It appears to be headed to the archive, as well.
