In tribute to the C&Cs of yesteryear when they used to feature medieval cooking recipes, here's a video from a series that focuses on 18th century cooking techniques and recipe tutorials. This particular one is cooking pot roast in a dutch oven on the ground using nothing but hot coals that looks particularly delicious, but there are many many more videos; I look forward to checking out some of the weirder ones, including carrot custard, candied lime, and mushroom ketchup!

I used to be part of a reenactor group. Used to travel all over New England doing demonstrations... nothing like the smell of black powder in the morning. Firing off the cannon used to get everyone up and going in the morning. If you want more receipes check out savoringthepast.net How about a 200-year old chicken salad recipe?

How about a 200-year old chicken salad recipe? I think, in the back of my fridge, I have 200 year old chicken salad.
