So, there used to be a book called Masquerade that was a story and picture book...if you solved all the clues in the book, it gave you a riddle and if you solved the riddle it lead you to a real treasure. That book was solved.
In 2007 a similar book was published called Fandango. This treasure has not been found. There is a "key" hidden somewhere on Mount Desert Island in Maine that once found, will result in a treasure being awarded worth over $10,000.
A few of the pictures have been solved. The deadline for finding the treasure is 11/26/2020. I figure our collective minds could probably get further finding the master riddle and solving it better than anyone else. They say that you do not need to be on the island to solve any of it, that you can figure out the riddle and the location of the key without having to go to the island.
If we can get 6-12 people working on it maybe we can create a Thread working group and get it solved and split the treasure. With all of us working on it, the real reward will be solving a puzzle that others haven't been able to figure out for years.
For those that love deep complicated puzzles and are waiting for Wilson Wolfe to come out, this could be something enjoyable we could all work on for a few months.

Always interested in Armchair treasure hunt. There are quite a few out there, just wonder why you choose Fandango?

I chose it because the location of where the treasure is hidden is somewhere I can drive to...and it is unsolved. Unlike one of the other hidden treasures like the Secret (which has a location in Boston (some people think)) you don't need to know the local landmarks.
This one you supposedly can solve through the book...uncover the riddle...get the answer to the riddle and then drive up there to the location to see if the key is there.
