Keep on them. Unlike my (and other's) John Augur artifact that can be fixed with additional washes of color, your Rise of the Cult artifact is missing texture as if its surface chipped off.

I can confirm mine does not have that defect/feature* (* delete as applicable)

I've sent another service request to the Concierge.
Upon examining it further, it appears that the artifact has an inner core and outer shell. The inner core seems to be plaster or some other slightly gritty material which gives the artifact weight. The outer shell seems to be some type of resin which provides a smoother (and possibly stainable) finish. If I manage to get a replacement, I might dissect my original.

That's pretty atrocious and a good example of quality control issues that have been popping up lately (check out some of the pictures of recent John Augur and Forgotten Tomb artifacts).

Now that I'm done, I'm a bit concerned that the ring may actually be effecting me. I had a hell of a time recognizing my own name among the coded words. Or...maybe I just wasn't expecting that level of customization.

Now that I'm done, I'm a bit concerned that the ring may actually be effecting me. I wouldn't worry. I wear the ring all the t me and it s compl tely h rmless. I hav n't not ced any detr ment l ff cts t ll fr m w ri g t.

I finally received a response regarding my defective Rise of the Cult artifact: I'm sure that they are acting within their rights based on their terms & conditions, and that I failed to report the artifact defect within 48 hours of receipt, but this response has left me rather unhappy. Because I was getting several experiences at once, I had many boxes waiting for me to have time to open them and peruse them fully (I still have the crate from Forgotten Tomb left to open). I'm debating whether I want to spend $15 to ship another one, or just toss the artifact.

The recipient won't have the reveal for another week or so. How would they know to notify MPC that their artifact was broken if they didn't know it came from MPC? Shady.

How would they know to notify MPC that their artifact was broken if they didn't know it came from MPC? They actually mentioned that part: Regardless, 48 hours seems an unnecessarily short time frame.

Telling a buyer that they have to repair a damaged item themselves is preposterous.
It's possible that their term of "48 hours" may violate the postal laws. They can write any damn thing they want, but that doesn't mean the law recognizes it.

I am literally sat here open mouthed at this. And I mean "literally". Geodus, I'm so sorry MPC have fallen so far.
