I've seen suggestions about a "raft encryption"
but I'm not entirely sure how you all got there. Is that what I should be working toward? I'm trying to figure out parts of the solution from each of the six sections of the article
but can't seem to figure it out. I'm thinking I need to be looking at letters or phrases about what went wrong in each of the 6 sections.
Is that even along the right lines? Any further nudges would be appreciated! (p.s.: you are all so good at these puzzles--I'm constantly impressed! Thanks for helping someone who's so late to the game!) It's not what went wrong, but what is wrong. If that's too obtu ce, feel free to PM me.

You're jumping ahead with "raft encryption" What you should be focusing on initially is decoding the message hidden within the article by noting all the errors.

or what went wrong in each situation?
Thanks!

You are looking for spelling (or typographical) errors. Sometimes you will find an incorrect letter, an additional letter, or even a missing letter.

Ok, so I got what I think are all the errors, but what now? I've tried some brute force cipher-ing, but no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You should end up with with a readable set of clues. Will do! I have some words that seem appropriate--looks like I'll have to comb back through to make sure I caught them all! Thank you!

I can vouch for phraca, as he was of enormous help to me with the Bungle. Now that I've solved it, I'm also happy to help anyone in need; send me a PM if you'd like.

I was wondering if anyone else has made any progress with this puzzle. I have sussed out the first step, and believe I have identified some elements for the second step, but I think I'm missing others, which may clarify how to resolve the puzzle. In particular, I'm not sure about the 'raft encryption'; I assume this refers to the Kon-Tiki article, but I'm not certain whether we're looking at the 1847/1947 mistake (maybe indicating a Caesar shift of 8 or 9, which jives with 'encryption') or whether it is connected to the miniscule 'Calling Card' under the 'Achievements' heading (the 'Calling Card' article also has miniscule printing, but for the life of me I can't read it). Has anyone managed to push through this puzzle? also over looked this tiny print until The Bungle made me go back and look again. Did you get anywhere with this?

I'll just say that tiny print is involved with the final answer, but it may not be the tiny print you're referring to here.

Ok, So I too am working through the bungle puzzle and noticed the reference to raft encryption Which brought me to Kon-Tiki article. There I found tiny print "Calling Cards" I do not have the curious and remember seeing one on these boards so I pulled it up and couldn't see anything of note. Then I went to the article regarding this curios and found more tiny print that I cannot make out. Maybe "Calling Cards" again
Any nudges would be appreciated!
