To begin: First Clue: Remember what the Curator advised. Second Clue: Do you find any mistakes? Third Clue: What is wrong? This should reveal a fairly coherent message. Clearly, Parts of this message refer to specific things. And clearly, the things being referred to have bungles themselves. The last step is to make it spell a word. In each case on this step, you want to use what is needed to correct the mistake. It is important to note that this word keeps with the theme of the puzzle. First part of the word The crossword puzzles all have hidden messages. Look for one that skips a word Second part of the word Find the puzzle that is in close proximity to the article Joe Sent Me. Third part of the word You need to be reading tiny print. Fourth part of the word Look to the X-Grid. Fifth Part of the word You're again looking at tiny print. Sixth part of the word Find the error in the story about the raft. If it seems a bit odd, the clue gives you an additional hint. It it's as easy as A, B, C, 1, 2, 3.....

I was wondering if anyone else has made any progress with this puzzle. I have sussed out the first step, and believe I have identified some elements for the second step, but I think I'm missing others, which may clarify how to resolve the puzzle. In particular, I'm not sure about the 'raft encryption'; I assume this refers to the Kon-Tiki article, but I'm not certain whether we're looking at the 1847/1947 mistake (maybe indicating a Caesar shift of 8 or 9, which jives with 'encryption') or whether it is connected to the miniscule 'Calling Card' under the 'Achievements' heading (the 'Calling Card' article also has miniscule printing, but for the life of me I can't read it). Has anyone managed to push through this puzzle?

Am I correct in that each of the six parts will give me a single letter?

Am I correct in that each of the six parts will give me a single letter? No. But typically.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for the fifth part of the word? I can't find any mistakes in any of the tiny print except for the one used in the third part of the word. I have a pretty good guess what should be the fifth part of the word based off the rest of the solution, but can't seem to find the mistake that validates it.

There is tiny print in V2C3 with a lot of i's missing. There is also another letter missing from the 2nd word. That is what I used. I'm not sure if it is right but it worked for me.

This one is giving me fits. I thought sure I had solved it correctly and made an apt word, but the vault says it's wrong (and I'm pretty sure I am on the right key number) Would anyone be willing to look over my work and point me in the right direction? Thanks.

If you are correcting errors in the spelling of the word then don't.

If you are correcting errors in the spelling of the word then don't. I will need to reconcile that somehow with your advice above to: use what is needed to correct the mistake.

Thanks, Geodus. After several PMs back and forth with Todd, I have finally got it. As usual, I was overcomplicating things.

Can I confirm the errors from the bungle article? There are a few words surrounded by other letters. I'm dyslexic so strange words are pretty common 😉

Sure - you can PM me. BTW, once you have all the errors, it should be obvious if you have any mistakes, as you will end up with a message.

I've seen suggestions about a "raft encryption"
but I'm not entirely sure how you all got there. Is that what I should be working toward? I'm trying to figure out parts of the solution from each of the six sections of the article
but can't seem to figure it out. I'm thinking I need to be looking at letters or phrases about what went wrong in each of the 6 sections.
Is that even along the right lines? Any further nudges would be appreciated! (p.s.: you are all so good at these puzzles--I'm constantly impressed! Thanks for helping someone who's so late to the game!)
