This got recommended to me by Kickstarter, and it seems to be tailor made for many of us here. A puzzle hunt with multiple metapuzzles, including physical artifacts that contain puzzles, and I think a light story. I also like that you can pay a smallish amount and get instructions for how to print out templates and assemble the artifacts itself, or pay more and get fabricated artifacts mailed to you. I'm going to check out his other stuff too; I hadn't heard of him before, but he has an extensive website with lots of puzzles available: tortoiseshellstudio.com/puzzles/

I forgot entirely that I'd backed the previous one, haven't even looked at those puzzles yet!
For this one, although I'm interested in the physical artifacts related to the puzzles, he doesn't show any pictures of them - there's no indicating how many artifacts we're talking about, nothing really concrete about them....it makes this a really tough sell for the price.

I saw this thread and went to the web site a few days ago and purchased the first one, What's That Spell. Unfortunately, I may have lost my $20. I did not receive the file, and I have tried contacting the web site owner. I have an account on the site, but no files. I am getting no response from my messages, and I see the most recent puzzles on his web site are over a year old. I'm going to try to contact him through the kickstarter page and see if that works. I'll let you know. For now, though, it appears the web site takes your $ for the first case, but does not give you the file. I'm reluctant to sign up for the new one right now.

Doesn't Kickstarter police these sorts of issues?

Amy's issues are not Kickstarter-related, but instead something odd with ordering the first experience from the website itself.
Amy, I was able to purchase the first one no problem a couple of days ago from the website. I got a confirmation and the files to download immediately after I made the purchase. However, it was a tiny bit convoluted in that I had to create an account and then it defaulted to paying via PayPal, which is not how I normally pay for things. I've also never interacted with Nathan Curtis (the creator), so no idea if he's super responsive to emails or not. Feel free to PM me and I can try to help you work through it. From a first glance at the puzzles, they are very tough but really cool. One of them is one of my favorite types of puzzles, specifically trying to decipher a made up language.

Thanks, dmikester. I feel better knowing someone did have success. I have my receipt from Paypal, so I know the charge went through, but still no file. I checked the new kickstarter and di not see a way to contact the owner that way. I'll try another time. This sounds like it really is something I'd enjoy. If I only had more time to work on all the puzzle stuff I'm finding these days!

Perhaps getting the product delivered is the first puzzle?

Yay! I got it fixed today. Nathan, the owner, found the problem and sent me the file, just in time before my 3 day weekend.
