Can I just mention how much I HATE UPS mail innovations? It always seems so much slower than just standard USPS. Just another nail in that MPC coffin. In my experience, they're faster than regular USPS Parcel Select, but much slower than the Priority Mail service we were previously getting. Mailers use them because they're a good trade-off between speed and cost.

We've just been spoiled by Priority, and I can't stand that void that the package sits in for days at a time. For example, my delivery hasn't moved since 12/23, but it's still due tomorrow? Also, UPS is reallllly backed up right now. So, there's a good chance those estimated due dates are going to be missed across the board.

my text alert says delivered to my (standard sized) mailbox as of 12:14pm CST. since it wont fit in that mailbox, hoping is at door instead. I live on a major foot-traffic road... would hate to see it disappear :-( having neighbor check on it as soon as she can....

Finally received today (12/28) in the afternoon. First impressions in the appropriate thread, but spoiler alert: they're not good.

For those of us in the United States, MPC has changed the class of mail they are using to ship with this issue. It's being drop-shipped as Parcel Select mail by UPS Mail Innovations. As a result, some of us might see a longer delivery time than in the past. If you are in the US, and you're still seeing "Preparing Shipment" or similar when tracking your package on usps.com, try tracking it on ups.com. Have you received Countdown to Oblivion? Thanks for this. Found mine on UPS.com. ETA 12/29 to Michigan. But arrived early, at noon today the 28th.

Nothing here. Since I've always gotten my issues so late here in Germany, watching you guys solve the puzzles and trying NOT not read the threads while waiting day after day by the mailbox was always so hard (especially Vol 3).
Well, sadly, life got a lot easier now.

Yup. Mine still isn't here yet either. USPS still hasn't processed mine. Still think that Mail Innovations isn't complete garbage? Just give it to the Post Office from the start My 21 years of experience in mailing and collateral fulfillment tells me that if this was shipped as straight Parcel Select with the USPS, some recipients would see delivery time of 14+ days. I perform on-going delivery time studies for my customers and, with the exception of mail within the origin USPS Network Distribution Center, UPS Mail Innovations shaves days off of the delivery time. Only the most local mail sees an increase in delivery time of a day. Ultimately, MPC has decided that they cannot continue to subsidize the shipping costs for these pieces, as Priority Mail is actually more expensive than the $5.00 they charge for shipping. Combine that with the fact that MPC chose to ship this issue during the busiest parcel shipping season of the year, and since which time there have been two additional Postal Holidays.... January 2nd is only the 7th delivery day after shipping. I remember in the days of Volume 2 we waited weeks and weeks for our issues....
