Right off the bat I'm having timeline consistency issues. First, the letter to whomever opens the box is dated April 3, before Alfred was abducted. Presumably this would have been packed in the box just before sealing it. However, the box included a newspaper page, dated April 5, with an article about Alfred's abduction. And further, that same article is dated April 15, ten days after the date of the paper. This seems to either be carelessness [/spolier] or an indication that [spolier] Alfred faked his abduction, and that entire newspaper page.

I have a feeling it is a careless typo.

I think these are also careless typos in the newspaper as the first lines of the three main articles say April 19, April 15 and April 19. When the publication date is April 5th. This doesn't surprise me as I had a printing error on one of the puzzles and had to logically fill in the blanks. To fix one of the timeline errors The newspaper article with the abduction being in the box doesn't make much sense (how did Alfred include this if he sealed this up on April 3rd), but this could primarily have been put in there for protection during shipping of the box in reality since newspaper is fragile. So I just pretended the newspaper came separate from the box. Me and the wife went through the entire case last night and the one recommendation I have is to solve as much as you can chronologically based on the dates written on things for the most linear story flow. We solved things based on easiest to hardest and pieced it together based on dates at the end to get the full story.
