Hello, everyone! For the past few years, you may have known me as Kifaru Green (AKA Verdant_fru), an avid puzzle solver who worked alongside you to crack the various Curios and Conundrums vaults and to speculate about the mysteries within the paper.
It is my tremendous pleasure to come clean, and reveal that i have been a mole in your midst this entire time.
My name is Ryan Henson Creighton, and for the past two and a half years, since issue 2.4, i have been Wordsmith to the Curator - and the puzzle designer for Curios and Conundrums.
Like you, i was very disappointed to see the announcement by the Mysterious Package Company the CnC has been discontinued. It has been an absolute joy, and one of the highlights of my entire life, watching you duck and weave through all of the considerable challenges i've thrown at you these past few years. i am in awe of your abilities as solvers, and the wonderful community you've built to help each other discover the CnC's many mysteries. You have kept me on my toes as much as i've kept you on yours!
But the fun doesn't have to end here, friends. i am very eager to build something new... something for you, and with you... that will fulfill all the dreams you have for a story-driven puzzle adventure. i want to create something intriguing, fun, and desperately deep for you, taking your input directly into account. Instead of sending money, hope-filled, to various companies, with fingers crossed that they'll deliver on the promises they've made on their product page, why don't we partner together to create something truly focused on YOU, the international puzzle community?
What do you say, solvers? Are you with me?
EDIT: To be entirely clear, we would be embarking on this journey together apart from the MPC, with whom i have recently parted ways. This is a solo album. Let's go!

Very well, "mole". Why don't you tell us the solution to the Harvest Time puzzle?

Very well, "mole". Why don't you tell us the solution to the Harvest Time puzzle? Just a reminder… We don’t do solutions here we do hints. A hint would be welcome a solution would not be.

i misspoke. The solution is known. It's the solving that remains a mystery!

I, for one, am very intrigued by the prospect of more puzzling in the vein of the classic era of Curios & Conundrums.
I am in for certain.

I’m in all the way. Let’s do this!
Oh, and thank you for the amazing journey of Volume 3. You introduced many of us, myself included, to this style of intricate and difficult puzzle solving, and at least for me introduced me to a wonderful pastime that I dearly treasure.

I might not be the best puzzler, but I'm in with you. What I lack in brains I make up for in enthusiasm, I guess. If I may ask, what was your favorite puzzle to design?

i really enjoyed working on the patent puzzle from 3.1. i loved some of the longer puzzle chains, especially the one that made interesting use of a nonogram, and the one that took you to another site for a self-contained adventure involving a jackalope (those were my adventure game roots showing). The puzzle i poured the most time and energy into was, unfortunately, Harvest Time (which, internally, i called "Operation Bookworm"). Oh well!
What was your favourite puzzle to solve?
One of the things i would like to do for you is to produce content explaining how to solve different puzzles, and how to approach and think about puzzles, so that folks like you who may not feel... adequate (?) enough to tackle challenging puzzles can get properly equipped, and hopefully feel much more clever!

I think my lack of confidence in myself stems more from inexperience than anything else. I've been puzzle solving my whole life (I grew up with the Professor Layton games, saving up my own money to buy them as they came out; it's honestly one of the only things I can say I've been with since the very beginning). Considering I was seven almost eight when the first game came out, I'm sure that gives you an idea of the second contributing factor: my age. The third would be the more... ARG, I guess is the word... style of puzzle solving. Priding myself for so long on never using hints for puzzles made me reluctant to ask for help, when I feel that's really what CnC Volume 3 required. Many minds make light work, as the saying goes. While I have since grown extremely fond of this community, I simply feel I did not contribute all that much to the actual solving of the puzzles, if that makes any sense. My favorite base puzzles from each issue were Patently Ridiculous (3.1), Crazy Wall (3.2), Crossfire or the Crossword (3.3), and One Good Turn (3.4). Admittedly, I also liked "decrypting" the ouroboros message, even though that wasn't necessarily a puzzle. Favorite day locks would be Strawberry and Trophy. I may be forgetting one on these lists, as well, but those are the ones I remember very fondly. Miss Direction was the one I couldn't wrap my head around most (excepting Harvest Time/Operation Bookworm), but upon finally getting it I thought it was awesomely tricksy and I was so silly for being stuck for so long. In short, there weren't many puzzles I didn't like or felt were unfair to any degree. That's not to say there weren't some (looking at you, A lock), but I've done enough puzzley things to realize there's always that one puzzle that feels a little less seaworthy than the others. Like everyone's crazy relative who only shows up at holiday parties, I guess. You get why they're there and understand the logic of them being there, but ultimately feel like they're too much booze-soaked, off-the-wall colorfulness to invite to a more distinguished party, such as your wedding reception or graduation. TL;DR: This was my first experience with a puzzle thing of this magnitude. I enjoyed it immensely, have found a great community of awesome people, and used CnC Volume 3 to make it through a dark chapter in my life. You did spectacular work and you can be sure whenever the word "puzzles" came up in a conversation, even tangentially, I was all like, "Ha, you think you know puzzles?! Let me tell you about this Really Cool Thing I discovered...". Thank you for the ride; it was a fantastic one, for sure.
