I'm pretty sure this is broken. Has anyone had luck successfully completing this?

So far, I'm missing Google, hence, old, polyester, tell, twos, and WWW. But I've found words that may be unconnected: backrub, tear, oil, game, sock, hood

Overall though, yeah I think it might be broken.

Yeah, it's a bit broken. Looking at how I would fix it, I have a suspicion about how it got broken in the first place..

It's the answer, not the process, that's broken, right? Because I was able to get to a four-letter thing, but it doesn't make sense.

Yeah, I think what happened was a potential "fix" for another issue broke it by messing up a couple of the letters. But if you can read the future, you should be able to figure out how to change the past

I was going to post a way to correct this puzzle but, unfortunately, I don't think there's a way. We could eliminate the word BACON from the Future clues, which would allow the H to be uncircled, but that still leaves us with a misspelled word in the left-over letters. SHAEDE. Trying to correct the spelling of this word will give us a circled letter where we need an uncircled letter.

If you look at the fifth row, you can change the KDG to (I think, would have to double-check the order when I get home--ETA, got them switched originally, now corrected) KGD then things work, as there would be a second place for that errant answer that covers and uncovers the right spaces.I suspect this was how the puzzle was originally, but they were trying to fix the double entry.

That certainly would fix it, as long as you pick the right hog.

That certainly would fix it, as long as you pick the right hog. Perhaps the corrections are written in invisible oink. I had it a little off above, now that I'm where I can check. I've edited the original to fix that.

This puzzle error literally caused me to rage-unsubscribe. (Despite my persistent Vol4 grumpiness, I did feel compelled to complete the volume, both for completion's sake and because I was still hoping that things would get better.)

I feel obligated to point out that errors in puzzles played a big role in Volume 2. It's possible that this may not be a mistake.

I feel obligated to point out that errors in puzzles played a big role in Volume 2. It's possible that this may not be a mistake. The key difference between the mistakes in Volume 2 and these is that in Volume 2, none of them broke the solving experience of individual puzzles. They were noticeable but just something you might file in the back of your mind as odd. The one in the Clockwork Word Search makes it unsolvable as designed and extremely aggravating as a result.
