I still have a hotmail account and use it pretty much everyday. It's how I sign on to this forum in fact. Ah, I misunderstood what it meant for hotmail.com to redirect to Microsoft. Maybe there's a small hope of a reply.

Beckett, I'm only a little familiar with C&C. I tried to get into Volume 3 and Volume 4, but it's just not my cup of tea. I cannot recommend the first two volumes enough - even if one would not be interested in solving the puzzles at all, they make for a far more compelling read than the later ones. If you cannot be bothered at all, there still might be one certain article that might prove quite interesting to you...

I loved packages 1-3. Package 4 left me with a "oh cool this is going to be a stereoscope!" Package 5 was disappointing I nearly lit the papercraft on fire.

Has anyone contacted the MPC yet to inquire about how the artifact is interactive, and what were the doubling up of pieces that interact with it?

So, I decided to fire off an email to the Concierge. I'm interested in their reply. My Dear Concierge,
I recently received an email stating that the last mailing for Filigree in Shadow had been sent, and which I have received. I must ask that surely at least one more mailing needs to be sent as I backed at the Bespoke Seance level, and there is still a handsome display stand for the artifact outstanding. Could you please clarify this for me?
Also, I'm a little confused by the nature of the artifact itself. The $200,000 stretch goal stated that "Without giving away the specifics of the artifact, there are, shall we say, items that interact with it. At the $200,000 level, we will include more than double the necessary number of these items, thus adding a great deal of visual interest". I am unclear as to what items are meant to interact with the artifact. The shape of the cavity in the mask would seem to suggest perhaps a stereoscope should be inserted, but no such beast was included. Is this an oversight? Again, I would be appreciative of some clarification here.
Faithfully,

Don't hold your breath my friend, if the MPC can't give you a helpful answer you'll just never get a response. when it comes to shipping issues and such, they are heroes and get back almost immediately but on a hot topic such as that you'll probably never hear from them. At this point I'm trying to figure out if the stand will ship with the t shirt or if the set of stands they had commissioned fit a different artifact and not the one we received leaving us in the dark about it.

Thanks for posting this! I don't think the two endings are mutually exclusive. Based on the descriptions of the house, I think the less dark ending could have happened first, and then the very dark ending sometime afterward. I'm making a scrapbook for Filigree and I think I'll include both endings in it.

Okay, you've peaked my interest. Tell me about this article... I will say, it allows part of the mystery to persist beyond the Reveal. I will be back home in about three hours, let me get back to you then.

As promised, I've made the "less dark" ending available to anyone who wishes to see it. The "print" version can be printed double-sided and folded to make your own copy of the item. (Just be aware it's an odd size, so you may have to experiment with trimming some edges to make it fold correctly.) The online version is arranged for easier reading on your computer screen. Beckett, I'm only a little familiar with C&C. I tried to get into Volume 3 and Volume 4, but it's just not my cup of tea. Eclosis, I have not received the display stand yet and I've sent two messages to MPC about it. So far they have not responded. Thanks very much for this!

Hmmm. That puts MPC 2 for 2 on not fulfilling the promised kickstarter stretch goals. The missing puzzles from Century Beast were a slight irritant, but the total absence of interactive items for the filigree artefact and total deviation from the description is just flat out misleading their customers about what will be provided.
It seems clear at this point that the artefact we ultimately received was not the one they originally intended. However I find it somewhat unforgivable that they strayed so far from what was promised. I'm sorry but this is the last MPC kickstarter that I'll be backing.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I've usually gotten a pretty decent response rate to any of my inquiries. Some have taken longer to get a response than others, but I think I've had a reply every time. That doesn't always mean those answers have been what I wanted to hear though.
