I'm particularly intrigued by this one because of the code-breaking aspects of it. It's also almost certainly going to be the MPC's take on an alien artifact/the X-Files (hard for me to hear "remote Arctic research station" and not think of The X-Files, and they've referenced them before in C&C).

Could also be something like the Thing. Alien lands next to the station and stalks the researchers. Maybe we could have to find out from the notes who has been infected?

You need to stop talking about all these possiblilities, because all of these are what was running through my head when I first read about it and I'm as giddy as a six year old after eating a mahoosive pile of sweets.

A motion picture by John Carpenter that is actually half a year older than I am.

I am a bit envious, I must admit that. For me, it was always Star Wars. That opening shot of the Devastator chasing the Tantive IV over Tatooine must have been glorious back in the day. I mean, I still love it, but seeing something like this back when no-one was used to that sort of thing? Magnificent.

Great write-up. The Thing really is a masterpiece, and the effects are still so unbelievably effective and horrifying. Somehow I doubt we'll get the stomach maw in Cold Signal, but one can dream.

This movie has always been my go-to Hallowe'en night horror movie.

I prefer "Trick 'R Treat" for Halloween, but usually watch "The Thing" once or twice a year. Usually on a snowy cold night.

Oh, Trick 'r Treat is my Halloween go to movie, too. I liked Krampus, too. Finally an English movie with someone who really can speak German. If you haven't watched it, I'd highly recommend it.

I know that Krampus is by the same director and I've been meaning to seek it out. It's probably even free with my amazon prime sub. Thanks for reminding me!
