I had to get this as well. I did like the original Yellow King, I do like Lovecraft and weird horror. So I did get this for myself, too. Sigh. At least I already got myself a nice Christmas present!

I wonder if this ties into the King in Yellow (not just the stories, but especially the existing Experience). If so, it would make for a terrrific follow-up to the first one. And if it becomes a success - who knows, there might come a day when the Company start offering a more definitive conclusion to Tempus Fugit for thegenii!

I sent the original King in Yellow to my Dad for Xmas last year.... might as well send him the sequel this year.

Yeah, this is the one I'm by far the most excited about just from the description, as The King in Yellow is my favorite of the original Experiences, and a modern-day sequel could be really exciting. It's also the only one where I have absolutely no clue what the artifact could be other than wild guesses.

Of the three new experiences, this one alone provides multiple endings.

I doubt it because they've already included a number of pages from the play in the original King in Yellow, and this is supposed to be modern-day. Also, having read all of the Chambers short stories, a huge part of the appeal is specifically NOT knowing exactly what's in the play. It's one of the better examples of how leaving something scary up to the imagination is so much worse than just revealing it in full.

It would be impossible for the manuscript of the play itself to be the artifact because the play does not exist. It is a phantom around which a wonderful bit of horror has been hung. Personally, I am thrilled we will likely see more that involves the King in Yellow because it is still one of the best experiences they created. Beckett: stop teasing me about Tempus Fugit!

Beckett: stop teasing me about Tempus Fugit! Oh, as if you would not be willing to pay good money for a more definitve ending to Tempus Fugit!

I've pitched them the idea of making "add-ons" like The Seance for Filigree or the Coloring Book for Century Beast available a la carte, and they've expressed interest in the idea, though of course, no confirmation whatsoever about whether they would actually go through with it. What if they could create new a la carte Epilogues for some of their older Experiences like Tempus Fugit?

I would say that not making the coloring book or the tabloid available to new Century Beast purchasers (or simply those who missed it in the Kickstarter) indicates that there's a level beyond which they don't care.

I'm definitely excited as well. King in Yellow was my first experience and I enjoyed it a lot. I'm hoping the pre-order period lasts a while since I can't quite afford to put money down on it yet. I was originally going to try to get The Century Beast or The Demon Jar for myself for the Dread Holidays, but I feel compelled to get this instead. If for no other reason, I have my KiY artifacts displayed in my living room in front of the corner of my TV and the artifact(s) of this one would probably pair nicely.
