I need a hint on how to solve the cypher please help if you can. Here's how I started: Dr. Elliott gives you two of the letters in his correspondence with Dr. Algner. Trust those letters and write them in above of below their symbols on each of the pieces with a cipher. I like to work on copies.
Since one of the letters you have is E, and the most commonly used word in the English language is THE, I looked to see if there was a repeating pattern of (symbol 1) (symbol 2) E. There is a common repetition of the same two characters preceding the letter E, and so I assigned them T and H respectively.
The second mailing seems to do a better job of breaking the symbols into words by putting space between words. My next breakthrough came on one of the pieces in this mailing: The page from the medical book. Trusting the spacing to be word breaks, the last two words on this page were filled in as THE __RR_R. Recalling some of the things Dr. Elliott said in his correspondence and journal, I found a word that fit the pattern of letters __RR_R. If you're having trouble identifying that word, reflect on it for a moment. At this point, you have letters for 7 of the symbols. Write the letters above or below their respective symbols and continue to look for sequences of letters that call to mind words that fit the context of the Experience, or that fit with the words you have deciphered.

I'm happy to help further if you or anyone else needs some more assistance. Oceans of thanks for your advice--I love the experiences, but I'm pretty dead in the water when it comes to the kind of patience and methodology necessary for code breaking. The left brain's force is not strong with me.

I have tried to break the cypher and I can't figure it out even with the hint, is there anything I could be missing? Any more help will be much appreciated.

I have tried to break the cypher and I can't figure it out even with the hint, is there anything I could be missing? Any more help will be much appreciated. A general hint for code cracking is that 'the' and 'and' are the two most common used three letter words in the English language. This applies in this case as well. As I stated previously, the physician's guide is a great place to start, as it's obvious how the words are broken up and there is one pretty easy word to pick out if you've done the reading. (Todd mentioned that in his clue as well). Good luck.

When solving a cipher, a crossword puzzle tool like www.crosswordsolver.org/ can be quite handy. Like if, for example, you know there's a word that is "--RR-R".

Unbelievably, I still haven't received the second mailing (and I did write to the Curator, and received a letter from a member of the concierge saying that it would be taken care of immediately ... that was over a week ago). It now appears, according to the tracking number that popped up for the third mailing, that it will arrive before the second. Argh!

It now appears, according to the tracking number that popped up for the third mailing, that it will arrive before the second. Argh! I had that exact scenario happen with The Century Beast last year. A mailing got a tracking number but then was stuck in limbo for weeks at the original post office (Rochester). I contacted the MPC and they sent out a new one express mail, but I ended up receiving the mailing after the one in limbo first. Then, thanks to a thread I was reading on Etsy, one morning I tried putting on USPS alerts for the missing package, and literally 12 hours later, the package was suddenly being moved along and appeared at my door two days later. I've learned since then to always put USPS alerts on packages as soon as a tracking number appears; it seems to trigger something in their system.

Transcribed the phrase below the Physician's Letter. Where is a good place to go to pick up some of the other letters? Some of the cipher is too short on certain items.

Transcribed the phrase below the Physician's Letter. Where is a good place to go to pick up some of the other letters? Some of the cipher is too short on certain items. I seem to recall the deed being helpful at that point. While it lacks word breaks, there are a number of words that became clear upon inspection. But I think you need to be working all of them simultaneously for the best results.
