Oh my God. I just got two 4 letter words from the numbers. I just was overthinking the whole thing. The wrong articles I was trying to apply the book cypher were much too long And I had to rearrange all the letters

I've only just got around to thinking about the box inner cover in depth, and like many others given that the first of volume four box's puzzle was entirely self-contained, it's attractive to think the same here too. And yes having HUSH HKSU feels like it should say something... It does. I got the same. You have to rearrange the letters of the second word

Oh ok, we've found those before. There's no clear reason to rearrange the letters in the second group of letters, and it's obviously not a coherent sentence like with GoM.

When I scribbled down the letters, I was going up to down rather than left to right, so it all made no sense untill I rearranged them all, which led to these 2 words.

Presumably you mean HUSH HUSK right? Although why would we rearrange the second word and not the first?

I made a half-hearted attempt to see if I could translate these letters into Cyrillic but that didn't take me very far. It's a thought...even if it's not a good thought.

I think I've got it, what do you think about this: The BOX answer is simply: HUSH HUSH i.e. something is secret, it's hush hush and the reason we get HUSH HKSU? MPC screwed up. Maybe someone changed the text or the alignment after determining the numbers, maybe they mistranscribed the two of last three numbers For example, the "One guidebook" picture, with 4-2-5. Perhaps the original alignment was as follows: "Zombie Survival Guide, written by an anonymous member of the community. A shocking, rarely heard point of view." 4-2-5 would then be...U And for the last picture, if the word NOTE: actually appeared on the previous line then 5-2-2 would indeed be H

It also feels a bit like trying to force something to make sense just for the sake of it making sense. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'd be pretty surprised if they messed up that badly, though to be fair to the theory, several of the puzzles in Brain Butchers feel rushed and sloppy compared to their usual standards.

My personal theory is that, if The Messenger is hiding these "without the knowledge of MPC" then he or she probably wouldn't put them in the same place in consecutive issues.
I'm open to the possibility, but I don't think there's a message here.

Just had a reply to my enquiry on this - looks like I was correct... Wow, that's...both well-done on your part and a very disheartening mistake on their part, especially given that the box was significantly delayed. Would you mind sharing the reply, either here or in a PM?

I'm going to second both of those wows above. That's a considerable error on their part... and a somewhat disappointing conclusion to that puzzle. But at least there's a conclusion--thanks for getting us there.

It's not a mistake of Bridge Letter proportions. So there's that.
I find it curious that they would acknowledge this hidden message when the premise is that these messages are being hidden without the knowledge of MPC.
We need Bernard to come back.

There are moments, dark moments, when it seems to me that they need to kick back and reread some of the old issues, like really read them and solve the old puzzles themselves. Because sometimes it feels like there are other peolpe now working on the CC and they somehow seem lost in how to design all of this and why some of uns are not as satisfied as we were.. Asking us what we want is a nice thing, but for me the cool theme does not make up for poorlier (if this word exists..) designed content.
But these are just dark moments within my dark soul ;-) Still hoping though..
