Figured I would move this from being buried in the Vol. IV, Issue 2 Anticipation thread.... As most of you have probably seen - MPC is no longer offering Volumes I-III on their website. I do not know if this is permanent or not, but am assuming it is due to the drastic price reduction of Volume III and the complete disappearance of Volumes I-II. There is a link which Eleduar caught and copied below. It has since disappeared from the MPC website, but still works and through it and through it you can purchase all of Volume III for $64.99. BUT we don't know how long it will be there. www.mysteriouspackage.com/products/cc-catchup-3As I side note... All of this made me go back and look at my old issues.. The newspapers are getting worn at the seams and fold marks..I even noticed a few holes where fold seams meet. I guess I have opened them and refolded them too many times. So now - since there is no possibility of replacing them. I bought a newspaper archive box and will be carefully packing them away - according to archival best practices (which means unfolded except for the main lengthwise fold between pages)...now when I open them I will be wearing typical white cotton gloves too. Some of will probably laugh at me for doing this, but doing a great deal of amateur genealogy, I've come to appreciate taking care of newspapers and old photographs....and I consider these issues to be a great treasure.

Perhaps it is time to scour the internet for an old microfiche reader.

Well, big news of sorts. I just received my Volume 3 Catchup, which I purchased from this link, and guess what? As a bonus, they also threw in Volumes 1 and 2 (without the curios of course)! That makes this an absolute no-brainer if you want to gift this to someone.

I already have Vol 3. but wanted another copy to keep untouched.

I just found out about the Curios and Conundrums last month and subscribed for the first time. I ordered Gods of Madness as well since I believe that is the start of the new stuff. I do have a question. Gods of Madness is set to arrive this Wednesday and since I just ordered the Catch-up, it will arrive a good bit after. Should I wait to do Volume 3 before starting Gods of Madness? Thanks in advance for the advice!

MPC has, I think, made it fairly clear that Vol 4 is intended to be a new start, so I don't think you'd lose anything by starting it before the vol 3 catch-up.

Not sure if you already received your Volume 4 Catchup or not, but we just got ours and it did indeed have Volumes 1 and 2 as a nice bonus . Even without the curios, I think it's awesome that we will get to experience what everyone on this forum has raved about. As new subscribers that purchased the Gods of Madness catchup, my wife and I are enjoying it so far. We can't wait to start working through the first 3 volumes.

Just to piggyback on what wortelboer is saying, it's an amazing and epic (and very challenging) experience, but very worth it. Fair warning that not having the curios for Volumes 1 and 2 can make some puzzles very difficult to solve, but a number of us here started late as well and had to do without them and were able to work through it, so it's doable. Feel more than free to reach out to any of us here if you need any help or guidance on what to do or where to turn to next.
