With regard to wordsearch: The letters that are shared by at least two words can be anagrammed to spell "Cat Lady's Encyclopedia." That is all.

Spoilery oddities that may or may not mean anything: - Typos and errors. These likely mean nothing, but are worth noting. "Hatchepsut" in the Cleopatra's Needle article and "washy-washy" from the crossword. - There's a hidden message that gets spelled out from the bold letters at the beginning of certain articles. Mysterious, but not clearly relevant yet. - War of the Worlds appears to be missing from the Word Stack article, but is in the puzzle. - The Toffy Noddles ad is fake and seems somewhat related to the Phrenology Magnet. Whether or not this will actually play into a puzzle is unknown, but I'd guess unlikely. Going to do more digging.

I noticed the outer cardboard box had some information on the bottom. I'm keeping it for now. Probably nothing, but just in case...

While it's important to express the caveat that Curios & Conundrums has been peppered with errors since its first issue, and only some have been significant, it's worth noting that the ROSSWOR seems to have given us the wrong half of the clue for 54 Down.

There are an unusually large number of references to bees and honey throughout the newspaper. While most make sense in context, at least one specifically the one in the Books in the Belfry article, is very odd and seemingly out of place.

Well, I have poured over the paper for days and am now setting it aside to wait for the Weeping Book to be delivered. I found the short message phrase and have a list of "oddities" that I can do nothing with for now. Found no second layers to puzzles or anything else to work on. I spent a good chunk of time trying to see if I could find any code in the 2 strings of 37 letters from the "unused" crossword answers, but had no luck. Hopefully better minds can find something that I missed.

What about . the colors, red and blue appear throughout the paper. This seems to be significant in that the handwritten red notes from the Curator seem to serve to draw your attention to specific parts of the blue editor's notes, possibly to be researched further.

Has anyone else noticed that many of the images from this issue came from the Wellcome library in London? I'm sure there's nothing to it but it's easy to see the source for a lot of their material

Again, just wild and far afield speculation - but the magnet of the phrenology head. says that it can be used to list the attributes and traits of any chosen individual.
Then the Curator accuses the Editor of "impertinence". Also noted the magnet It has 13 closed squares. If MPC is reverting to an end Vault with 12 or 13 passwords. Maybe this will be needed to figure out what order to put them in??

I only see some red handwritten notes. No blue ?

I only see some red handwritten notes. No blue ? never mind. the blue notes are typed not handwritten. I missed that.
