I only started with C&C with the last volume, but one thing I have noticed is that the puzzles do seem to get more difficult as the issues advance (Issue 2 is more challenging than issue 1, Issue 3 is more challenging than 2, etc). Hopefully this will be the case with this Volume, because I will agree that these puzzles were significantly easier than the last Volume. I'm holding out hope for a Vault. I do think that all of the answers leading to one single word for an overall "Solution" to the issue is likely a way to entice more new subscribers. It gives more of a feeling of closure, even though we have no idea what to do with the word from here... I've been re-reading the issue hoping for a deeper puzzle, or something more hidden, but I haven't had anything jump out at me thus far. Check out the response that I got from the MPC regarding the Vault for Volume Four (it's in the thread titled The Codex here). There will not be a Vault for this year's set of C&C issues, and the issues are not going to be building on each other like previous volumes did (they are thematically connected, not directly connected via puzzles). There's a chance that things will change when Volume Five gets released, but they haven't made that decision yet.

Pretty much every response I've heard from a Concierge regarding a Vault for Volume 4 contains the language "...the vault is sealed for the remainder of Volume 4..." and "...I am not permitted to say more...". Which naturally leads those of a suspicious nature to believe that there is something more to say in regard to a Volume 4 Vault.

Times like these are perplexing for one such as myself, who assumes the role of Devil's Advocate by default.
Every time someone says "there might be a Vault", I am inclined to say "but there might not be."
And conversely when I hear "there isn't a Vault", I am responding "but there might be."

Incidentally, there has been some real conspiracy-theory conversation regarding signed vs. unsigned Curator emails in the chat room recently. The July 7th email was signed by the Curator, but not the July 11th email. Is it a thing? Or is it just the way the butchers get into our brains?

With these guys? Assume it's a thing unless it's specifically stated otherwise - in that rare case, remain skeptical.

There seem to be 2 standard templates for the email. One for the usual experience marketing emails there is a dark background, curator's signature, and notations on the intern responsible. The second seems to be only for marketing the C&C subscription and has a light background, no signature, and no interns were harmed.

We just finished solving all the puzzles and believe we figured out the final word. We felt rather bright afterwards. As if we could take on the night. Would you say we are on the right track?

Conspiracy aside, I know a lot of people that thought v3 was too hard and that C&C had gotten away from the writing quality and the mystery and focused too much on puzzles and breaking the vault. I wonder if that had anything to do with not having a vault for v4. Or maybe v4 is a transition volume while they figure out something bigger and better for v5. In any case, I hope they bring the ISS and ZS storyline back and I hope they don't connect C&C with their experiences. I like C&C as a stand alone.
