There appears to be more titles than synopses.

There appears to be more titles than synopses. We at first assumed that the discrepancy was the solution, but it didn't help us with the metapuzzle. I'm still not sure what it means. Hopefully that there is more to the puzzling than is currently clear.

I still haven't fully solved this (16 titles to go) but I did get a 5 letter word from this puzzle. Would like to confirm with someone.

Because the article has the subtitle "Victorian Literature is Mad" I was restricting my search to works published during that time frame, and it seem to fit. I haven't confirmed every date, but I have one answer that seems to have been published a few centuries earlier. Did anyone else get this: The clue about the supernatural stewardess, is a book that was published in 1485.

Yes, my guess is that because, in Victorian times, a number of authors reworked the story MPC wanted to give credit and point out the source of the material.

I have figured out most of the titles, but I'm at a loss as to how to start fitting them into the grid. A little guidance would be great!

The lines and extended boxes indicate matching letters. There's a few places in the grid where titles share 6 letters in a row - so look for titles that contain the same words and see if they will fit.

I usually go through my list and write the letter count (without spaces) next to each, then do the same in the grid. There are a few that will only go in one place. Then you can extrapolate what goes around them based on common letters.

I have all but 2 titles in my grid and they fit well. I'm at a loss for a 13 letter title that starts with "THE" and 20 letter title that looks like this -N---ORI-------EC-ES Any help would be appreciated. Also, this is my first puzzle of this kind, what do I do with it when I'm done? Is there a clue in here somewhere? HELP!!!!
