Found two and I didn't know if anyone knew about these groups and conventions and had ever been a member or attended one of their conventions. The first is the Association of Game & Puzzle Collectors Their international membership now includes collectors, game players, puzzle enthusiasts, game and puzzle makers, inventors and designers, historians, authors, researchers, and people interested in related playthings and popular culture. The have a convention coming up in May in Southbridge MA The other is the National Puzzlers League. The National Puzzlers' League (NPL) is a nonprofit organization focused on puzzling, primarily in the realm of word play and word games. Founded in 1883 in NYC, it is the oldest puzzlers' organization in the world. It originally hosted semiannual conventions in February and September of each year, but conventions are now held annually, in July. This year they are holding it in Boston July 6-9. Here is a writeup of their 2010 convention. Looks like fun. www.wired.com/2010/06/national-puzzlers-league-convention-a-preview/

Great stuff. Thanks for sharing. Members might also be interested in seeing if there is a local chapter of Puzzled Pint. This group meets monthly.
