We have available the crossed fingers lock, which contains the admonition: "Ssound it out." It links to the four missives locks.

Why do I feel that those four syllables don't really convert to a seven digit word?

Why do I feel that those four syllables don't really convert to a seven digit word? Four syllables? I've got way more than four. Ignoring the fact that each missive might be pointing to a different word, there are 11 syllables. I've got potential replacement words that have syllables of 2, 1, 1, 2 syllables respectively. Juno(Ulysses) War Bluff Etchers Which sounds out to nothing in particular.

Each one of the Missives night locks reveals a phoneme, just like the rest of the puzzles, but I can't sound out anything from these four phonemes...

The symbols underneath the crossed fingers icon indicate the answer relates to the four missives. That's why we've got four syllables. Nevermind. I see what you did there. I'm still not sure what I did there. After essentially not looking at the phonemes for all of the other day locks, I hadn't considered that might be an option for this one. I see that now. Also, I guess I don't see t/n/d as syllables. So that also threw me. If it's not the phonemes, then it could be the keys for each missive, so is it the key itself (11 syllables), or does the key point to a different word (?? syllables)? These and more unanswered questions on Ariock's next comment!

So. I was just showing my co-worker (who's cracked a few of these puzzles with us despite not playing) the lock...
It actually says
Ssound it out.

I think it changed between the OP and now, actually. TheBardess in the chat room didn't see it until she refreshed. Not your fault!
