I did it in Excel, drew a picture second by second of the state of the doors for a minute, and then walked an X through A series of PowerPoint slides could also do the trick.

A series of PowerPoint slides could also do the trick. I did mine in a bar with matchsticks. Matchsticks, Lego, same thing. Plus we were both drunk.

I did a math sort of thing where I came to a door and just looked up the list to see how many times it appeared. An even number meant the door is as drawn, and an odd number meant it was in the other position.

I finally managed to get out of the maze but the letters which I crossed make no sense especially when there are more than the 4 required in the night lock.
Help?

This puzzle was... nefarious.
I ended up drawing room states for each of the time indexes in Excel.

I'm getting out at 32 seconds through the upper right square. I feel like I'm not doing this right.

I'm just now getting back to this... my last nightlock! I believe I have the path taking the correct amount of time (54 seconds) and I gathered that we aren't looking at the letters. I looked at the path but nothing 4 lettery is jumping out at me. I must be missing something obvious as per usual!
