Got this the long way - it's a fun one.

I've found all the words (including both KIDs and all 3 CABs). I also already know the vault answer from the clues provided above, but in my need to understand everything, I am having a difficult time putting the two halves together. I thought that it was going to be a connect the dots type of puzzle, but I can't get it to look like the answer. Am I just not squinting enough?

Completely lost here. Usually, I think a Word Search is too easy to bother with. Alas, these people (presumably) have come up with a genuine puzzle! I don't know how to start since the word CAB is not in the search. So, this must mean this is one of dem dar word puzzles I've never been drawn towards. Would someone walk me through a starting point so I know what I'm converting and how I should be searching?
Yeah, I hate to request more than a spoiler but I have yet to figure out how this is a word search. If I can't get this one started, I am afraid what's going to happen to the grey matter when I get to Composed Words! I really am looking forward to One Good Turn so I'm not as dumb as you should be suspecting at this point. If I can get a walk through of one I think I can solve this but I just can't see how this is a word search. A code to crack? How does one crack CAB (or some better example)?
My apologies to all for taking up your time. My immense respect for your puzzleability. Perhaps someday I can help if I knew . . . well, if I knew anything!

Heres a hint: Look for the word "Chevron" first and then (unless I made a mistake) you should know how to find the rest of the words.

Me too. I'm lost.

There is a similar fluke with this puzzle as elsewhere, namely intentional typos. I'm curious if anyone else has made headway on "reading" a message in the wordsearch? I can see snippets of what looks like words or web addresses, but haven't figured out if it's wishful thinking or not. Still, my spider sense is tingling.

Yes, my spider sense is tingling on that one too. Hidden Web sites also seem to be a theme, and all the other word searches used all the letters one way or another.

Thanks for the help here. Once I understood what I was missing. I was able to solve the search. I still have to solve the rest of it but I have the words found and no longer want to quit!

someone mentioned more than one possible for a couple of the words, how do we know which one is the correct one and do we need to find all the extras?

This puzzle reminded me of a true story from middle school.... Our English teacher, whom I have since figured out was probably lazy, gave us the assignment in class to make up a word search out of our spelling word list and exchange it with the person sitting next to us. Assuming everyone else also thought regular word searches were boring, I included each word multiple times but with spelling errors in all but one. Ironically, this helped me learn the correct spelling of the words, but since he did not notice what I did, he learned the wrong spelling for most. I did not have many friends in middle school.

Also, back on topic... I figured out the right answer, but my letter list has 2 P's and no N's. Since only one of P words has an N in it, I assume I should be looking for PA?IC, which I can't find. I found an instance with two wrong letters, but that doesn't fit the pattern of all the others. Is this one of those "hold that thought" moments?

There are a number of currently unresolved loose ends. This is one.
