If they're expecting these to entice some people to subscribing to C&C...there are going to be some pretty surprised individuals when they see the difference in puzzle difficulty.

I'm not holding my breath, but puzzles that appeared easy at first have been known to have some impressive second or third layers.

Anyone know the significance of the arrow pointing to the ships wheel?

Anyone know the significance of the arrow pointing to the ships wheel? It is the symbol for the first vault, apparently. When you click it, it takes you to the vault page.

I played these riddles through to some friends to warm them up. and started to warn them the quartly paper and its puzzles are a lot more difficult and complex. But who knows, maybe there is indeed a second layer that will pop up at a certain moment. also I have a thingy feeling with this. As the ship reference I have also no idea but there a lot of ship images with each communication I find (so still bit paranio about it) (but you could see it as a wheel of vault too)

It's not a ship's wheel. It's a vault door.

I'm exactly who they are targeting. Still on the fence about subscribing. I've tried some online ARGs in the past and found them to be too difficult and technology heavy. (Converting unit hexadecimal or finding pictures in sound files) All way above my skills. Are the puzzles in C&C focusing more on intellectual puzzle solving and less tech savvy? I hope so!

Well that was easy! Which makes me uneasy!

So far it's been very paper and pencil as far as the puzzles go. The thing that makes it so great though is that there is a community here working on them so if you get stuck, someone can nudge you along. I highly recommend jumping in and getting the omnibus for previous volumes if you haven't already. Though I'd wait patiently to see if it becomes a sale item soon.

All the puzzles in C&C are kind of twists on what I would call "classic" puzzle solving (a lot of cyphers and the like). Most are along the same lines of what we've seen in the missives, just more in depth. You don't really need any ridiculous extra skills, and you'll never be required to really hack anything. The most techy thing I can think of was during volume 1, but it was pretty basic all things considered.

Any chance we missed something? It's been very quiet waiting for the last clue? I went back and watched the videos posted to facebook regarding Vulcan Dragon just looking for that symbol hidden somewhere but no luck

I went back and watched the videos posted to facebook regarding Vulcan Dragon just looking for that symbol hidden somewhere but no luck Nobody has seen anything. People have put forth the theory that MPC will sit on it for a while to give time for everyone to get their last issue. But I personally believe they just have their hands full with getting the issue out and with the usual Black Friday influx of orders.
