This missive is preserved for posterity, as the newest members will not have received the email in real time.
Missive lock #4 was just emailed. It's been solved.

I feel that one was a typo maybe? I solved it by skipping that word and working backwards.

Typos have been important in previous issues.

That typo must be meaningful because I find it very hard to believe that plsmb would have made it through proofreading unless it was intentional.

I did 1, but am saving 2 for a rainy day. Yeah, there were typos, but MPC has stepped up their game recently I feel, and increased their production value. I have to think they have proofreaders and test solvers, right?

I have to think they have proofreaders and test solvers, right? There were more in volume 2. The wrap-up made them into puzzles, but it was clumsy.
Stepping up their game is, I think, a matter of opinion.

Still for those who haven't figured it out, it may be food for thought.
