Really. Now I'm interested in hearing her opinions of it then. When I found MPC, Tempus Fugit wasn't an option. I keep forgetting it's there.

I don't know why the only choices have to be "scary stuff" and "kid stuff." I suppose the intention behind the family friendly attribute is that it might be enjoyable for parents and their children alike, and although they might have overshot the mark by a bit when producing Under the Ceiba Tree, they might get it just right with pirates. Both the stories I mentioned before - On Stranger Tides and Treasure Island - are just for children... I disagree that Treasure Island is just for children... that being said my favorite tellling of it was done by the Muppets

I did not expect to see a new Experience so soon at all. I am all the more curious about what will await at Alchemy Island and Draconis Cove! If there lie one or more Experiences that way, they just might differ in tone a bit. In the new email about the new experience, if you look st the dread holidays map, Alchemy Island is missing

I disagree that Treasure Island is just for children... that being said my favorite tellling of it was done by the Muppets I mistyped most severely, what I meant to say is that both of these stories are decidedly not just for children. My apologies! Really. Now I'm interested in hearing her opinions of it then. When I found MPC, Tempus Fugit wasn't an option. I keep forgetting it's there. I must really get her to join us around here. She was especially impressed by the second mailing and the artifact, but kept looking for an interactive component that was not there - she suspected to have been signed up for an Alternate Reality Game when she got the first mailing. And, most importantly, she did not find it frightening or distasteful in any way.

I'm a sucker, and I play a pirate at times, so I ordered this one within the hour of the email arriving. I know it's family friendly, but I'm hoping it's a bit older in theme than Ceiba. Also, when mentioning "On Stranger Tides", you're referring to the movie or the far more excellent book that the movie bears little resemblance to?

I thought the artifact at the end of Tempus Fugit was the least satisfying of all the experiences. It raises questions that seemingly can't be answered, which just sort of left me hanging. I prefer my stories to have an ending. It can be ambiguous, but at least an ending of some sort.

I know what you mean - I am still on the fence if I should (Tempus Fugit spoilers follow) send a nude person to her house in a couple of years, demanding to see the artifact and making a rubbing of it, and then vanishing never to be seen again. Also, when mentioning "On Stranger Tides", you're referring to the movie or the far more excellent book that the movie bears little resemblance to? My account name at GOG.com is JackShandy.

Well that explained the many boats lately, I guess.
On the family themed opinions: I don't think family friendly has too mean less frighten all together....It all depends how the story is told. But saying that a good story that has suspense for all ages is that much harder to compose and tell then one for a mature crowd.
If I will buy it ? I am a sucker for pirates, so better don't keep myself in suspense and just go for it.

I received clarification from The Curator. This artifact for this experience will indeed ship in the usual crate.

Really. Now I'm interested in hearing her opinions of it then. When I found MPC, Tempus Fugit wasn't an option. I keep forgetting it's there. The best part of Tempus Fugit is the second mailing. You get a pile of notes and letters written on different types of scraps of paper and have to figure out how to make sense of them. The story raises a major question that begs to be answered and isn't. The artifact raises a question but then doesn't go anywhere with it other than acting as a yet another example of something in the story we already know. I'm not the smartest monkey in the barrel when it comes to these type of things (to say the least), but all you really seem to get is the first three-quarters of a story. Something as simple as a follow-up photo mailed in a letter-sized envelope would have ended the experience in a much more satisfactory manner. Just noticed that the price of Tempus Fugit has dropped back to $199.99 from $229.

What sort of closure would round off the Experience for you? The way I understood it, by entrusting you with the artifact, it would wind up in the hands of the traveller eventuelly, who would be able to use it to make the final time shift to be reunited with their lover. I found that rather clever, as it made the recipient rather important to the fate of the protagonists.
