So, K8, I've managed to map the horoscopes to the paddle. One question, because of my poor eyesight, what is the image on the RUN button? Thanks. That would be the eggs Aha! That did nothing for me! But thank you.

Did someone solve this? I saw a new thread posted but don't want to ruin it for myself. If someone did solve this lock, any nudges would be helpful.

It's a multi-part puzzle, and this thread seems to be more for the first part. To summarize, putting together the bits from the various parts of the Volume 3 CnC issues should result in a phrase that is 17 characters long. 4 odd characters and then 13 characters that make a common phrase.
So now what? the odd characters have nothing to do with parachuters or being internet famous. Once you find the first bit, search for the second bit. If you find that, you'll know you're in the right place.

We have available the Strawberry lock. Edited to add: if you're aware of the additional adventure, please discuss it here: curiosandconundrums.freeforums.net/thread/444/Edited again to add: this lock has been broken. The spoiler below is a hint, useful after you've chosen your plaques. use the words, in order, from the four plaques as a rebus. How does one define what constitutes a plaque? Are these things that come from following the instructions in the string at the top of the page? Or, as someone noted, are they found in the 4 editions of the volume, described as "bits"? Thanks for a nudge, anyone....

Well, one option is to examine [room] and see if it describes something that you hadn't noticed before.

OK. Plaques,check. Matching them to something or forming a rebus? Not so much. I did find two adverts that aligned: Burnett's Hair product and Flash hand cleaner but then....?

Seems like everyone is stalled on this one. I took another look this afternoon (with all the pieces now), and had one (maybe) interesting observation? Almost all of the answers can be linked to a type of creature cancer - crab cerebritises - dog gemini - humans moon - wolf etc, etc... Of course there are three answers that don't quite follow that logic upon first glance graphophobia, year, and owfinger (of course not owfinger...what kind of clue is that?) What do we do with this info? No idea, but I thought I'd throw it against the wall, and see if anyone can pick it up. Here's where I am so far:
step 1:
there are four zodiac signs, and they're paired with four puzzles. step 2: look at that specific star sign in the issue associated with the paired puzzle.
eg: cancer, cerebritises- issue 1 step 3: see if you can find anything that connects those specific horoscopes with the paddle in Smash n' Grab- the ninth referenced puzzle. The result of this step is where I've stalled. I have stalled here too. I have attempted to do as suggested in step 3. but have only created a shopping list. Can I have a nudge or can I PM someone? or both

Pull in other elements including one from a previous issue that use the same symbols as the Smash N Grab puzzle.

Pull in other elements including one from a previous issue that use the same symbols as the Smash N Grab puzzle. Just as well we have a trade token for a grocer... saves me money on my xmas shop.. However I'm not sure I have the correct items Following the previous hints Cancer = angry-smash = BEEHIVE? or Down = TOMATO
Gemini = run - EGGS
Leo = pickup-grab = APPLE or Up = MUSHROOM or down = TOMATO
Capricorn = right - FISH
presumably i combine these ingredients (when correct) with the letters across the top of the pages to get a result?

You have the right idea, but don't be flexible in your terminology. If you don't see something, you don't see it - don't force it.

I have used your advice and am unsure who or what (IF) DB is and whether or not they are in good company I can see other words in the letters but not sure if they mean anything. EDIT: google to the rescue
