We have available the Strawberry lock. Edited to add: if you're aware of the additional adventure, please discuss it here: curiosandconundrums.freeforums.net/thread/444/Edited again to add: this lock has been broken. The spoiler below is a hint, useful after you've chosen your plaques. use the words, in order, from the four plaques as a rebus.

We know six of the nine symbols for this one, but aside from a Celestial connection between four of them, the other two don't seem to be connected. I guess I'll just have to keep waiting to get the next issue to get the last three...

Upon a shot in the dark search I discovered That the full moon in June is called the “Strawberry” full moon, and it only lines up with the Summer Solstice once every 70 years. This occurred on June 2nd of this year. I don't know if this is actually heading in the right direction, but it is food for thought

At the Mountains of Madness is a Novella written by H. P. Lovecraft If you dig a little deeper into this
you will discover the narrator of the story is a Professor at Miskatonic University Which throws us back to a little fella named
Miskatonic Timm

Careful how far you dive down that hole. There are a TON of Lovecraft and "Ancient Ones" references throughout the MPC and C&C, and you may end up getting pretty far off the current path.

Personally, I have the complete works of Lovecraft and Poe on my nightstand. There are few tangents so worthy to follow.
But I wouldn't expect it will help with this lock.

While I totally agree with you Todd, I do find it interesting that in "At the Mountains Of Madness" Lovecraft directly references Poe's "The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket". As soon as I learned the title of this issue I suspected/hoped that link would be relevant.

Although Lupis is not. Hmmm.

Interesting thought. I did some additional digging, but haven't been able to come up with any 5/6 letter phrases yet. Is it noteworthy that all of the zodiac constellations mentioned are on the ecliptic? Although Lupis is not. Hmmm. Aren't those on the ecliptic by definition? They wouldn't be the zodiac if they weren't on the ecliptic, right? Also, are you referring to The Moon as Lupis? Lupus, the wolf constellation, isn't part of this, is it? I just like to be clear about what we're talking about here. So, four of the clues go to zodiac symbols. Three (probably 4) are from puzzles associated with the Horoscope listings. We are probably stuck until we get the one symbol that isn't associated with the symbols and the horoscopes. I had a look at the 3 cancer horoscopes, and the three leos, etc, but didn't see anything that caught my eye.

I had a look at the 3 cancer horoscopes, and the three leos, etc, but didn't see anything that caught my eye. While most of them straddle it, true, there are a few zodiac constellations that are very close but don't touch the line of the ecliptic plane. Aries and Sagittarius, for example. And no, Lupis is another constellation. I got lupis from cerebrites, not an exact match but possible. The moon's orbit is mostly on the ecliptic plane as well, though. I did a little more reading on the zodiac signs mentioned and each one represents a different ancient alchemical element. Water, Air, Fire, and Earth. While it's very possible to pull 4 out of 12 randomly that match only one of each element it seems unlikely to me. Especially when they're almost in chronological order, but not. On another tangent (kinda reaching here) If you were going to go in order we should have Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo. But while Virgo is the next available "Earth" sign, Virgo and Gemini have the same "ruler", Mercury. And the same "day", Wednesday.
For whatever that's worth.

Has anyone been able to solve this one yet? Still working through it myself. Just curious.

So, of the symbols associated with this lock, four identify Horoscope puzzles from this volume , four are puzzles with constellations as their answers and one with symbols that connect to a curio from Issue 3 . Now, if I just knew what to do with that observation.
