This lock has already been cracked, so let's open the discussion...

As expected, it's in keeping with the previous answers for this type of puzzle.

I've got the cinematographer's name, and the name of the film that he won the Academy Award for when he used special lenses, but none of that adds up to the correct number of letters...

I don't see where the director would fit either.

Look at the director from the special lenses. And then look at the rest of his oeuvre.

I can see a lot of people (myself included) trying to put an extra letter in this one unless they ignore the leading article.

It'll be a lot more obvious once we have the issue.

Look at the director from the special lenses. And then look at the rest of his oeuvre. I don't think a director enters into this anywhere, that I can see. The cinematographer was the cinematographer and he had 4 movies that he was best known for. There aren't any twists or turns in the SnS clues. At least, not in my opinion.

So unlocking this one (which looks like a circle overlapping a triangle, with a smaller square inside them) opens up a day lock (Circle with 4 smaller circles inside), and unlocking that one opens another day lock that looks like the sun.
Also, has anyone gotten Issue 4 yet?

Chapter 4 isn't scheduled to ship for another week.

Again, in the absence of the actual issue, that's how we arrived at the answer. It's convoluted because it's a puzzle that we can solve without the actual puzzle.

my eyes are wide shut.... Not looking for the person's name for the answer here but your spoilered clue is on the right lines, although The Don_ld might point you closer to the right answer
