Hello! By day I'm a software developer who makes video games and VR/AR technology, and by night I'm a puzzle solving sleuth. Here are some interesting (maybe?) facts about me: I love puzzles of all kinds, and I have my own personal collection of logic and math word puzzles and riddles. I'm a word nerd. I like fancy words like frisson, fractious, and verisimilitude; I get a tic, however, when people say things like "run the gauntlet", "comprised of", or "octopi". I once studied cryptography at a military intelligence school. I'm a musician, a mathophile, a philomath, a celebrant, a bibliophile, and an oenophile. I like puns and bawdy limericks. The Sorting Hat says I belong in Ravenclaw. Because it's "octopodes." Anything else is just insanity.
Mmmmm. Huachuca.
Also Ravenclaw.

Not Huachuca, but Goodfellow. And Devons.

Hello MPC crew!
For reasons nefarious, I must be circumspect. My name is inconsequential, I live somewhere in the Golden State, and yes, I am an actual lawyer who assists with incarceration intake procedures. And, I am a Hufflepuff. And a ginger. Hence, my sobriquet.
Love affair with all things Harry Potter, as well as an aficionado of X-Files, House M.D., Castle, Star Trek, Sherlock, the MCU, sci-fi, fantasy, crossword puzzles, Neil Gaiman, and a few Star Wars movies. I am an avid metalhead, but enjoy everything from Andy McKee to DMB to Pink Floyd to Slipknot. My guitar is two-toned.
After seeing a FB ad, I joined the MPC in January of 2016, and quickly subscribed to CaC. The wiki and the boards have been amazing, and if I can ever get a day free without technology, I just may be able to open a lock or two. I have purchased The Weeping Book (chilling), and well as Tempus Fugit (cool!). I was a KickStarter supporter of Filigree In Shadow, so I eagerly await its arrival. The Demon Jar and The Yellow King look amazing, but, alas, my meager remittance mostly goes to my creditors. One day...
I do not post much here on the boards as I have very little to add in the way of assistance as I am so far behind. That being said, thank you to the members for being so helpful! Happy sleuthing.

My name is Ariock. I just realized I should pop in here to say hello. I've been playing ARGs since 2004 (ilovebees). And I've been doing puzzles and playing video and boardgames since the 70s. I and a few friends organized a puzzle quest for about 40 people through the streets of SF for ARG-Fest-o-Con 2007. I enjoy puzzle hunts and puzzled pints (puzzledpint.com). The MPC donated several artifacts to the ARG-Fest-o-con travelling Museum, and they looked amazing, so I signed up for the Century Beast KS. I grabbed C&C not long after. I've also signed up for the Filigree in Shadow KS. I live in the SF area (East Bay).

I enjoy puzzle hunts and puzzled pints (puzzledpint.com). Puzzled Pint sounds kind of interesting! There seems to be one in my area, too, so perhaps I'll try it out.

I am an IT system analyst. I just discovered the Mysterious Package Company/Curios & Connundrums so I am a bit late to the party. My first taste of sci-fi/fantasy started at the age of 15 with the original a Star Trek (you do the math). I am very dissapointed we have not caught up to Gene Roddenberry's vision yet. I love mysteries, puzzles and hidden-object games so C&C piqued my interest. I received the catch-up package last week and Volume III and the start of 2017's subscription should be coming soon. I'm looking forward to the journey.

I am not actually in the partying business (I normally spend the evenings reading or looking wistfully in on the partiers as I stand out in the rain), but good authority tells me that's the PC term. My math works out to be either the year of or the year prior to the Rosenberg execution. Anyway, welcome! We tend to be a fun group of puzzly-minded people who always set an extra place at the table for wandering spirits and those who are fashionably late.

We can't be doing too badly -- we completely avoided the Eugenics Wars!

I'm the supervisor of the coordination center at ICT airport, it's a like a communications/dispatch center for airport incidents. I have 3 cats and 3 dogs. Over the holiday a friend of mine introduced me to MPC and I have been super curious since. We haven't been able to afford anything just yet but it's on my list of gifts to myself soon. I have however just splurged on the C and C omnibus to catch up on things. Is there anything else that y'all can recommend for me? I'm excited to jump into this and I'm a little perturbed that things are so pricey and that I can't get started right away.

I'm probably not the best person to respond, but I am too broke to afford any of the experiences and have only worked on the latest volume of C&C. I thought it was a little expensive when I first signed up, but it turned out to be (IMHO) quite worth it. Even though I am still quite broke, I think I'd ignore the screams of my bank account and brain just long enough to sign up for Volume 4, if the MPC makes it. Um, in short: I would recommend C&C. I can't really give an opinion on the experiences, though from what I hear through the grapevine they are also worth it, if a bit of a splurge. Hopefully, someone who can answer your question better than me comes along. Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Hello all.
Been around a few weeks now, but thought I should get around to introducing myself. Paralegal by day, but have a varied amount of interests in my free time.
I live in western Massachusetts and am in my early 50s (ugh...it just is so hard to believe that suddenly I got that old)
Grew up playing D&D, huge fan of mystery novels of all kinds (started reading Nancy Drew as soon as I learned to read)...Sherlock has always been my favorite.
I have done community theater, attended many renaissance (ren) faires in garb (in fact I am a licensed wench!), was part of a historical pirate re-enactment group for many years (don't you just love the smell of black powder in the morning???).
Nowadays though...during the summer months...on most weekends...you will find me kayaking my way down parts of the Deerfield River....or browsing antique stores...or baking deliciously fattening things to torture co-workers with during the week...or puttering in my garden...or deeply immersed a mystery book.
I have two cats that have decided I am worth putting up with and who tolerate me sparingly. On a part-time basis I take of my neighbor's adorable golden retriever who should have been named Tiger instead of Delilah because she bounces everywhere.
The Curator's temptations in those missive emails was too much temptation and I went from lurking in the background to jumping in with both feet...so...I here I am.
What an absolute delight it has been. Cannot wait for more.
Linda

Welcome, Linda! Are you jumping into Experiences, C&C, or perhaps both? You'll find we're a friendly and generally helpful bunch here -- although we try not to give too much away with regard to puzzles.

Waiting patiently for my C&C catch-up omnibus and for all of Vol. III. Should keep me busy for a while. I'm very happy to have found this place to come to for help if I get stuck.

I ordered it last week and it still hasn't shipped yet. I know that with the other sets that part of the intrigue is the mysterious arrivals, but according to the website, they haven't even processed my order... is that typical?
