The chat doesn't seem as populated as I would have hoped. I'm using the forums through Tapatalk so the statistics of forum usage aren't clear from this point of view. I could log on using a browser, but I figured I would ask the regulars instead: what's the dynamic of this community? I can tell that the puzzle solving hint forums are well used. Is there more to is than that? I'm always up for joining the fun in a well bonded online community, but finding a good one these days seems nigh impossible with my particular set of interests. TLDR: I wanna chat! We don't use the Tapatalk chat much at all, as there is an IRC Chatroom. There are almost always several people there, but conversations frequently lull. Do you have an IRC client? If so, the server you want to connect to is: irc.chat-solutions.org The room is #mpc. Ah, thank you very much! I am familiar with IRC but have not explored the option for mobile. I will look into it!

Is there more to is than that? I'm always up for joining the fun in a well bonded online community, but finding a good one these days seems nigh impossible with my particular set of interests. TLDR: I wanna chat! For what it is worth, I have never felt as much at home in any online community as much as I do here - and I have not even truly started to really dig into the mysteries of Curios & Conundrums. While it may be true that things are often a little quieter around here or in the chatroom - especially if you are not from the United States or Canada, in which case you will probably be asleep during the busiest hours - the mere quality of the discourse around here has made me come back each and every day for the past year. In the absence of any evidence to the contrary, I must conclude that these here are simply the best people ever to roam the depths of the internet!
Most of the conversations on these forums revolve around the products and services provided by The Mysterious Package Company; not surprisingly, as it came about partially to fill the gap left by the now defunct Sitting Room of the Company when it was closed for renovations some time ago.
In what I can only assume is a ploy to bancrupt me, the community has also taken to pointing out each and every project that would interest someone with an interest in puzzles, ciphers, riddles, the odd, the weird and the eerie, non-traditional ways to tell a tale and the like. Since the interests of so many of us line up nicely, this is a fantastic place to discover a new mystery or experience alongside others - for example, a couple of us are currently enjoying The Haunted Dollhouse by the wonderful Lady Delaney.
Anything goes, I suppose. Let me assure you that you will be hard pressed to find another bunch of people as helpful, polite and well-spoken as this lot.
So, welcome! I will be seeing you around!

Hey all! New to the community and Curios & Conundrums. Came across MPC with the Kickstarter for Filigree in Shadow. Thought C&C sounded right up my alley, started with Vol. 1 Issue 1. Guess I'll start listing some stats. I'm 30 years old, work as an engineer, live in the Midwestern USA. From there, I'll let you ask anything you wanna know (within reason of course). Greetings! I am also 30 years old and live in the Midwestern USA! Specifically Iowa. But I'm not an engineer XD I'm a third year nursing science student and phlebotomist with a BA in English lit What do you engineer? I live in Michigan (specifically) and am working the automotive industry as a validation engineer (a fancy way of saying I test cars). I went to school in Iowa at Iowa State University. Got a BS in Aerospace Engineering.

Hello. I am brand new to MPC. I was a big fan of PerplexCity several years ago (more so the puzzle cards than the ARG), and never really found anything similar, including the online community. From what I can tell, this looks promising. Curious if there are other PXC'ers around here...
I am also an auto engineer (in Michigan - where else?). I ordered the Omnibus catch-up a week or so ago, which I have learned means I will receive it eventually.
Also, I totally nailed the first "Chapter 5 missive" so I am feeling pretty proud of myself.
Edit: ...and solved lucasscooters signature. Now I need some food, badly.

Just don't stress eat. That never ends well. While you're waiting for more puzzling goodness, may I direct your attention to the User-Created Puzzles board? Click here. You can try one someone made or post your own. I admit I'm biased; I dream of the day when it's a much busier board. Anyway, bienvenidos y buena suerte!

I started off a few years ago with some chinese characters and then for my wedding this year went for a dragon circling around and looking after a butterfly, to represent myself and my beloved - she has an identical butterfly tending over some hearts ...

Hello! By day I'm a software developer who makes video games and VR/AR technology, and by night I'm a puzzle solving sleuth. Here are some interesting (maybe?) facts about me:
I love puzzles of all kinds, and I have my own personal collection of logic and math word puzzles and riddles.
I'm a word nerd. I like fancy words like frisson, fractious, and verisimilitude; I get a tic, however, when people say things like "run the gauntlet", "comprised of", or "octopi".
I once studied cryptography at a military intelligence school.
I'm a musician, a mathophile, a philomath, a celebrant, a bibliophile, and an oenophile. I like puns and bawdy limericks. The Sorting Hat says I belong in Ravenclaw.
