Well, I wish I could be as creative as the rest of you. But unfortunately I cannot form the wondrous stories that have been created in the Sitting Room... But enough of that. I've created this thread for quick introductions from new and old members alike. You can be as creative or as bland as you want here Unfortunately, I'll have to chose the bland side due to laziness Currently, I am a student in University studying for a BS in Economics. I'm enjoy sleight of hand, competitive shooting, and solving puzzles....Well the last part is obvious (it's why we're all here!). Even if this thread doesn't take hold, I hope it will help the newer members become more comfortable in posting! (Don't worry, we're all human, we won't make fun of you much...) Cheers~

3rd-4th grade teacher here. Sci-Fi junkie. Firefly being my base... but I love all things other worldly. My puzzling interest was started with GAMES magazine (old school) and The Beast (A.I. pre-movie puzzle). I am off-school for another week and milking it for every puzzle-solving second.
My best always,

Hi! I'm grateful to be here. Here's hoping to share mystery and puzzles and stories together. I'm holding off of getting the actual subscription until my son gets his experience. He gets his mail at my place so he doesn't worry about roommates misplacing stuff. Which means he has keys and comes by to check the mail when I'm not here.
I love writing poetry, short stories, long stories, research papers, etc. I also do art - monotypes, watercolor, stained glass, etc. I read non-fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy.
BTW, the picture isn't me. It's an avatar I use for my persona on another website. It's actually the Indian actress Huma Qureshi. Someone else picked it out for me.

Hey everyone! Real talk here, as I haven't really formed the character I want The Charming TW to be. My name is Tamara, and I'm brand spaking new to the MPC. I stumbled across them via facebook, where I happily share pictures of my wife and five kids...four cats...and two dogs.
Four of those kids are 13 and under, which makes me a full time mommy, but the job I make money in is nursing. I have MANY hobbies, including reading (horror, fantasy, mostly), writing, crocheting, knitting, video games (Mario and Zelda fangirl right here), board games, and solving puzzles! I used to play Everquest 2 on the RP server, and was a RP officer in my guild Legacy of Honor for years. But, life doesn't allow for hours of MMORPG's these days.
I'm so excited and inspired by the community attracted to the MPC! It's so lovely to meet you all!

The Genii here, actually Richard Kaufman, publisher, editor, and writer of many books on the subject of magic, magicians, and sleight of hand. This includes Genii, The Conjurors' Magazine, from whence I draw my nickname.
Myself, Mr. Andrews, and Mr. Erdnase are all ... familiar to one another.
Collector of oddities (MPC fits in here), world traveler, writer for Boing Boing, with a great fondness for Japan.
As an Aspie, unfortunately puzzles just seem beyond my abilities, but I have greatly enjoyed the experiences from The MPC and with Todd's help was able to decipher the one which was puzzlish. You would think that with the enormous number of horror movies I've watched the secret would have been obvious, but alas the obvious often escapes an Aspie. We see the micro images in the world.

Greetings to all. My name is Ray, and I discovered MPC via a suggested ad on Facebook. For once, it actually was something right up my alley. I'm only disappointed that I found out about it that way, and not by being someone's "victim." I'd love to go through an experience like that with no notice or anything. Anyway, I'm a lifelong RP gamer (starting in 3rd grade) and enjoy games and puzzles of all kinds. I also used to write (want to pick it up again) and am very much into music. I'm new to the MPC (just got my acceptance notification yesterday), and will be diving into the C&C backlog as soon as I can.
Very pleased to meet all of you, and I look forward to working with you!

I'm a 44 year old dad of a 3 year old named Atom. My wife and I are both cosplayers/ren fair types and sci-fi fans. I'm a computer nerd for the Federal Gov., and my wife runs her own business making super hero capes for toddlers. (Atomic Momma Designs, go figure. ) I ran in to MPC from a Facebook ad too, and was floored when I figured out what they do. How freaking cool! I am getting a subscription but really wanted Tempus Fugit before it was pulled. Ohh well, I am working on putting together an "open source" experience in the general sub forum instead. That has been kind of fun. For hobbies, I am a "maker of things" lol. I have done several movie costumes, made my own light sabers, furniture, kitchen cabinets, etc etc. My latest interests has been metalworking. I have a manual lathe and a CNC milling machine that I just recently finished assembling. I am now breaking tool bits and ruining material faster and with greater precision than ever. ;-) So, that's me! Hello World! Troy

My name is Jonathan and I am quite a recent arrival to the world of MPC. I was only accepted last month after Christmas and have been perusing the site since. I have many hobbies which include board games like Mansions of Madness, Arkham/Eldritch Horror, Tokaido, and many many eclectic genres. I also enjoy Pathfinder and Magic:The Gathering, as well as A recent Call of Cthulhu game I have gotten into. I like hiking, camping, shooting and being outdoors in general (except in the winter, brrr.) I have interests in paranormal investigating, photography as well as writing, though it has been a while since I have had a muse for that.
My character, the Miskatonic Madman, has not yet been fully developed yet, as I haven't even gotten my catchup volumes yet. But I will probably have my own adventures in an early 20th century era, as a young professor of Archaeology and Medieval Metaphysics from Miskatonic that tends to spend more time away from his post than at it, enjoying(or sometimes not so much) bizarre adventures that just may drive him to madness.
Anyway, just wanted to stop in and show my support for this idea and I like the organization now.

Greetings from Ithaca, NY USA! I'm Steve Jenks, but I use the name CentaurOfAttn because I'm a punny guy and it fits with a fraternal organization I am with. I work as an admission counselor at a college and live with an awesome roommate and our two dogs (mine is a corgi-mix with one eye!). I am new to MPC however I am not new to long form interactive puzzles. I have been involved with solving the Tim Tang Test for almost a decade (don't investigate, you will get sucked in forever!) and I love any mystery, puzzle, or cipher. In addition to reading and puzzles I also enjoy performing in the theatre, hiking, music, traveling, creating my own puzzles, and paper crafting. I have a blog that you can find on my profile about my crafting adventures (and there is a hidden piece of a puzzle that I set for my partner to find some day!). I don't have a character per se, since most would say the real me is plenty . I can't wait to meet more of you and for V3 to ship!

Hey all,
My name is Charles, handle is Charles de Grey. I am 32, live with my wife and our 2 cats. For hobbies I read, create D&D campaigns, and solve puzzles with my wife, who got me C&C Catch up Vol 1 for Christmas this past year. I am currently in the process of creating my own puzzle experience and building the fictional organization that solves them.
I'm mostly here to find inspiration for the cases and hopefully exchange plots and techniques with others.
Anyone else who is running their own mysteries through the mail or online, please message me to talk shop!

Post by The Fixer on Feb 19, 2016 14:05:05 GMT -5
As the grandchild of a former Free Mason, puzzles were the original connection between I and my grandfather. Many an afternoon we could be found working through a series of logic problems from his latest book. As I grew older, all manner of games and mind-testing items came into my life. Puzzling through mysteries in written text, to trying to figure out movie plots, to trying ever increasingly difficult physical puzzles, solving things has been a common thread of my life. Becoming an adult seems to have presented me with all manner of other experiences, and I had put down the puzzling for a while. Missing our time together, and upon hearing of the MPC through an unlikely source, I became curious and thus have become a member of the Inner Circle. Beginning Curios and Conundrums in the "half way" point last year, I am eagerly awaiting my omnibus so I can catch up with many of the great puzzlers of this secret society. As I begin to cut my teeth on the traveling, I am fortunate enough to be able to revisit the places my grandfather once went through this type of society, even being able to easily retrieve my own Chinese coin was lovely!
This forum has allowed me one further experience in life, that of a story-teller - in giving me the space to begin embodying a strong female character. The Fixer is gainfully employed in a little cared about, male dominated industry full of mystery and intrigue of a different kind. Passions include strange ice-sports of a poetic, ballet nature, complete with all manner of high stressful yelling from those that think the louder they yell, the more their underlings will work for them. Strange sweeping of undetected debris in front of hurled stones into a target area that is home, is often cause for the many who enjoy to join secret societies of their own. Other interests include problem solving, reading, laughing, and a budding passion for alternative relaxation modalities.

IRL I am a Genie. Imagine my dismay to discover my name was being used by someone else. Alas, what's done is done, therefore you will know me in here by my forum name of MrsPeacock. I am an artist. I am a computer wiz, but a lazy one so don't expect me to help you with yours. Besides you know the rumors about Genii. Be careful what you ask for. I do participate in MORPG communities. I love make believe. So I enjoy humor, mystery, cake and icy stares. (If you can't spell you find that funny.) My Sitting Room Intro: (posted today) A slender woman with long, straight, platinum, white hair returns to the door. This time she gains entry. She wears a colorful coat embellished with various baubles such as beads and embroidery. Cross-shoulder she carries a patched denim bag. Her feet and legs are covered in leather moccasin boots. She taps the bar top in passing to request water. Her eyes rove the crowded room but alight no where. Even so, she walks purposely to the wall near the vine doodler. After piling her coat into something resembling a cushion, she sits on it on the floor, against the wall and takes out a slender sketch pad. You may notice that her jeans are patched and her top resembles her coat. She now sets to work, sketching odd pieces of her surroundings. A mustachioed mouth, a drink dripping condensation onto the surface of a table, the toe of a shoe... just odd bits and pieces of the room's contents.

My name is Dani and I currently reside in Los Angeles. I am a huge Harry Potter and Alan Moore fan. I also read a lot of Stephen King (imagine my excitement with one particular issue of C&C...). It is a mystery that it took me so long to discover MPC but here I am. These puzzles are taking over my life! People stopped inviting me to social gatherings! But I digress... I am all caught up on C&C and awaiting Cook's Pacific Consort as promised to ship by The Curator. In the meantime, I travel, workout and watch a lot of Supernatural. I also like point-and-click video game mysteries - the difficult ones. Cheers!
