Adding & Subtracting from original value (ends up with invalid numbers) Replacing original value with 1 when new value was 1 Replacing original value with 1 when new value was 0 Replacing original value with 6 when new value was 1 (based on the clue referring to '6') Replacing original value with 6 when new value was 0

I'm still stumped on this one. I get that the "blind" comment is supposed to point you in the right direction, but I just can't seem to connect it to the other clues. Any nudge would be appreciated.

The name of the letter writer is a typical MPC punny clue once you initialize what is given.

The name of the letter writer is a typical MPC punny clue once you initialize what is given. Really struggling with this one. I've got the basic concept down but I can't find the proper guide since some of the patterns don't exist in any I've found.
Working backwards, I've only gotten grasp which is wrong.

Working backwards, I've only gotten grasp which is wrong. try turning them the other way. If you know the basic concept, then the patterns exist in the basic lists.

I was trying them a few different ways and never thought to reverse them. Where did you get that idea? Just trying or was it an obvious thing I missed?

Also, did you notice the name in the signature? The quote from the letter set me straight, and I finally saw the solution. Alas, the clue in the name is lost on me.

The quote from the letter set me straight, and I finally saw the solution. Alas, the clue in the name is lost on me. The clue in the name? First consider your initial impressions of the puzzle. Then at last you can put a name to this dread you are experiencing.
