This is the discussion thread for the Crossfire puzzle. Pertinent information will be collected here in the top post. Admin Edit: The first step shouldn't be too perplexing. Once your pairs are aligned... First Clue:Don't be confused by the obvious connections. Look for a higher order. Second Clue:This confuses many. Join the crowd. Third Clue:Three couples meet at the planetarium.

Just wanted to check on something: I am assuming that I should be using the Grimms and the War of the Roses, right? Nothing... Twilighty?

After completion: I drew a straight line between pairs and circled any intersecting letters. From the letters I got was the phrase: (moderator redacted) Not sure what to make of it.

Did your phrase seem to have a few left over letters? Mine did and I am not sure whether I missed something or if I should be seeking a deeper meaning...

No extra letters for me, 23 and it is a key for a future lock.

I'm struggling on this one pretty bad. I've gotten the phrase, I think, but I'm not sure what to make of it, or how to open the padlock...

The phrase isn't for the nighttime lock. This puzzle require a more cosmic approach.

So what I've gathered is I've solved the *next* step, but I'm still struggling with the first part of the lock. Go me? Edit - So I've been staring at this for a while with "cosmic" looping in my head. I feel like the slowest person alive. I've not solved it yet.

As was pointed out to me Some of the methods of solving these puzzles has recurred in multiple issues. Try going back and trying some old tricks.

I visually can't see a parallel between the puzzle and the answer. I suspect I was thinking too... astronomically instead of... astrologically.
