With the issue scheduled to start being delivered to some people as early as tomorrow, please feel free to discuss your first impressions here. Please remember that some people receive their issues much later than others due to the nature of mail delivery. Judicious use of spoiler tags is encouraged. If you haven't received your issue and don't wish to be spoiled, why are you even reading this thread?

Just got mine! It comes in a straightjacket, wrapped in chains. Awesome (I am in Canada) Front page story is about Houdini which seems to be the theme, on quick glance? My favourite item is the Pocket Guide: How to Poison Your Friends, which is a recipe book!

The curios that are included this time are pretty great. Many of the. Seem like they might link into puzzles, either in this issue or future ones.

MPC is now offering downloadable printout versions of the curios on their website (presumably the ones needed to solve the puzzles). They are also providing some hints and what looks like some solutions (although I didn't click to find out because I want to solve it myself). Maybe they got complaints that it was too hard?

That is super lame. Who needs hints? Maybe just a peek... NO! Back, foul temptress!

Well, I think can imagine why they might want to give a few hints regarding the crossword. I hat a moment of panic when I saw it, and immediately sent a picture to my friend who solves the puzzles with me so he could also freak about the new harder crossword. (Has this done before for C&C, or is it new?)

Got mine yesterday in Wisconsin, USA and a fellow c&c cohort and I finally dug into it today.
I was a bit surprised by all the "check the website for clues/hints/etc" littered throughout.

I received mine yesterday as well. As a person long involved in the field of magic, I have seen other bits in C&C issues that have led me to believe someone in their employ is an amateur magician. (Note that the new experience "Filigree in Shadow" will also involve a magician at some point.)
The writing on the key related to something well known in the field of magic regarding Houdini. Does it tie into anything else in the issue?

Does it tie into anything else in the issue? You mean other than the cover story? I feel it might be related to the few sentences on the bottom of page 9, near the illustration of a similar key.
