Yes, the fifth mailing will be the reveal. I have a number of reveals stacking up as I send all these to myself. Oddly enough, when I order the experiences, I never have an opportunity to put in any text for the reveal, so when they arrive, I have no idea who sent them to me. Joking aside, I rather wish the reveals had their content in the actual letter and not just refer to a webpage which may or may not exist in the future.

Actually, I was surprised by this as well when I saw the first reveal one of my friends received - did this use to be different? I thought I had seen a photo of a reveal about one and a half years ago that included the actual message.

Hello - I received the second mailing, and I'll admit that I thought that the USB drive was an eraser Then I got around to reading the journal and realized the "eraser" must be a drive . Did anyone have trouble with it? The drive says there are no files, so I figured I just got an empty one. But then I checked properties and it seems as though the drive is half full. I looked for hidden files - nothing. I don't want to email the company if it is something I'm supposed to find on my own, but now I figure this isn't the case. Thanks!

There are two files on the drive if I remember correctly. Are you using a Mac or PC?

You should be able to insert the flash drive into any USB slot, and when Windows ask you what you want to do with it, pick "View Files." There should be two files there (might be inside a folder). If you can't view the files, write to the The Curator and explain your problem. They might be able to send you a new flash drive or email the files to you.

The Reveal arrived today, along with that nice t-shirt that was teased on the MPC's Facebook page a few weeks ago. A pleasant surprise!

I also thought that the USB drive was an eraser at first, until I read the journal No trouble with it at all. It does indeed contain two files. One audio clip, and one video clip.

The Reveal arrived today, along with that nice t-shirt that was teased on the MPC's Facebook page a few weeks ago. A pleasant surprise! I got mine today as well. I was wondering if the t-shirt was going to come with the reveal or if it would come separately. The t-shirt doesn't doesn't thrill me, but it was free, so I guess I can't complain. I'm hoping the pirate t-shirt will be nicer.

Arrrrr! Pirate t-shirts are always nicer. "I found the Treasure of Mêlée Island™ and all I got was this stupid T-shirt!"

If you can't view the files, write to the The Curator and explain your problem. They might be able to send you a new flash drive or email the files to you. Thank you both! I emailed the Curator and got a response in under an hour. They said they will ship out a new drive immediately. They were very nice and apologetic. With the backerkit surveys, and with expected shipping dates (this week) of the next volume of C&C, the membership kits, and my next installment of Ceiba Tree - not to mention The Dread Holidays, I do wonder if it will get overlooked. No trouble with it at all. It does indeed contain two files. One audio clip, and one video clip.

I was actually directed to this site by MPC. I have gotten all of the mailers, but I have no resolution. Is there something I am perhaps missing? I have nothing to "tie it all together" if you will.

Cyndibz, welcome! Most MPC experiences don't have what I would consider to be a traditional resolution i.e. every loose thread gets wrapped up and all the different plot points get tied together. In fact, often the idea is that you receive an artifact with the expectation that you will hold onto it for "later" and then that's the end of the story. The idea is that the artifact is like a discussion piece for your friends and family, and it involves you more directly in the story. This storytelling technique, in my opinion, works with varying degrees of success; there are some experiences that I think end amazingly well and powerfully, and others where the lack of traditional resolution really falls flat. I'd say that Ceiba Tree is kind of in the middle for me; I enjoyed the story and the artifact but don't find the ending all that effective compared to some of their other experiences. If you'd like to discuss in more detail, including spoilers about the plot, feel more than free to PM me and we can chat.
