So, today received the 10th and final mailing from The MPC arrived for the Diamond Bespoke level.
It contains both the Very Personal Letter from The Curator and the special edition of C&C for Kickstarter supporters. But it's actually not an issue of Curios & Conundrums (which is good for those who collect the newspaper and want to keep their files complete): it's an entirely different tabloid in the style of The National Enquirer called "The Sentry." This particular issue would have to have been published about 18 years ago (unless I'm mistaken) to fit into the timeline established by something else in the mailing.
Some very odd stuff in there, a lot of which links up to various items in previous mailings.
And we learn that some of the crazy things printed in tabloids like this are true.
There is also an additional newspaper clipping which must be read carefully because it has pertinent information on both sides.
We also learn SP's fate.
There's also a damn crossword puzzle that I don't have a chance in hell of solving, as well as the answers to "last week's" crossword puzzle. Both of which contain additional information.
I am happy to share pix here if folks are interested.
Curiously, all my mailings show as completed in my account, however I have not received a "reveal" of any sort.

I would be very, very grateful if you'd share photos or scans of "The Sentry". That is the one part of TCB that had me kicking myself for not finding the Kickstarter when it was active. (I got the Black Friday edition.) Kind of strange (could go so far as to say misleading) that it would be promoted as a C&C when it's actually not, though. :/

In cases such as this, kickstarter exclusives are a bit of a waste. I understand that they are good for generating pledges during the campaign, but that another story mailing that will never see the light of day outside these first thousand kickstarter Experiences is a bit of a shame.

I thought this newspaper was well-done and amusing but really not at all in the spirit of the rest of the experience.

I liked the tabloid a lot and I couldn't have come up with a better epilogue to the story. It was actually kind of amusing to see the chapters put into something of a context in the "real" world. As I said in the other thread, my husband liked the tabloid more than the reveal

The tabloid was more interesting by far than at least 50% of the mailings in the experience.

It depends upon what the cost is, doesn't it? And what we receive?

It depends upon what the cost is, doesn't it? And what we receive? Very true. On a not at all related note, I shall start donating blood again next week.

I believe that semen will net you a much higher rate of return.

I believe that semen will net you a much higher rate of return. I was drinking ice tea when I read this. Now there is ice tea all over my desk.

Ice tea is the better of the possibilities.

It depends upon what the cost is, doesn't it? And what we receive? Not necessarily. I have come to the conclusion that what is promised may not match my high expectations. YMMV.

Wouldn't it be interesting if it started coming in the final mailing, as the news paper that is put in crates to protect the object and such... Not going to lie, that is a great idea, but with the price drop and if they added that, I would be quite upset.

I thought this newspaper was well-done and amusing but really not at all in the spirit of the rest of the experience. I hated that newspaper so damn much. It's so far away from the tone of the rest of the experience it might as well be some sort of inside joke. And there is no way in heck I can add it in when I share the experience with others.
