Considering what we spent, I feel we deserve the key! Ah, but in this day and age, when do the deserving ever get theirs?

I run a publishing business. We aim to exceed our buyers' expectations. Always.

Considering what we spent, I feel we deserve the key! I will just leave this here. "Presented without comment" are the words, I believe:

Since the MPC is launching a new Kickstarter campaign, I'm guessing the Key will be one of the goals.

Best of luck to you! No matter how tempting it is, I won't be participating. Learnt my lesson! Thanks! I suppose you will not be the only one to be a bit less eager to participate, but the comment section was largely free of complaints, so I reckon there is some enthusiasm left. I am, in any case, looking forward to receiving more information. Until then, the Haunted Dollhouse will tide me over. The first mailing of that should be around the corner as well!

I'm with you on waiting for the first mailing of the Haunted Dollhouse!
I'll repeat: it depends on the price and what they're offering for the new Kickstarter experience.
Jackalope, I don't think you would be as disappointed at this point if you had received King in Yellow and Tempus Fugit. The thing about The Century Beast that is problematic is the price. You received more mailings, but the double cost doesn't seem to have--in the end--balanced out with what you got in the extra mailings. And the price is yet to be determined for the new one.
What other companies are doing, like The Armchair Detective Company and the Haunted Dollhouse, may force MPC to up its game--that's why competition is good!

And there's also these guys: www.murdermysterybox.com/I got their back issue just to test it. It's a whodunnit, of course, and it's really nicely done! Especially nicely done for the price (about the same as a movie ticket and a bottle of water, at least around here...). It's not puzzles (nor is it supposed to be), it's a review the evidence, interviews, etc., sort of thing. That can be a stale mechanic, but their back issue had a nice gimmick related to reviewing the evidence. So, for $22.50 I'll probably see what the next quarter's issue is like. If you wanted it to have more of an MPC experience feel to it, you could have a friend chop it up into three parts and a reveal (it lends itself to that treatment) and have your friend give it to you a piece at a time. Come to think of it, that's actually not a bad idea. I'm sharing it with a couple other people by mail, maybe I should send it in pieces!

What other companies are doing, like The Armchair Detective Company and the Haunted Dollhouse, may force MPC to up its game--that's why competition is good! I've given Risen and The Weeping Book as gifts; both were well-received and based on the feedback from my recipients I would call it money will spent. TCB over-promised and under-delivered. There were more mailings, but many of the mailings were so utterly lacking and... well... we've been down this road and I know I'm not alone in my disappointment. Already, based on the pictures in another section of this board, the first mailing of the new experience looks far superior than just about ANY of the Century Beast mailings. This doesn't make me feel better about the company; it makes me feel worse. I wasn't familiar with The Haunted Dollhouse but Google has corrected that and it looks... enticing. I will consider this. Thank you for the tip.

You may wish to visit Lady Delaney here, Professor - it is not yet too late! Many thanks Beckett! Sigh ... another $267, and Tuesday hasn't even arrived yet. I need cheaper hobbies. Ah, a shame that the "Murder Mystery Box" mentioned above only ships within the States. Same with the "Mystery Experiences Company".
