This is the last issue I will receive. I've honestly barely looked at it.
As soon as I opened the box, my eyes started watering and my sinuses immediately clogged. They had enclosed a loose stick of incense to which I had a rather unpleasant allergic reaction. If you're designing games like this, keep in mind that heavily perfumed or scented enclosures are not a good idea.
I poked through the contents and shut the box back up. It looked like a standard murder mystery without anything in the way of riddles or ciphers except for some Chinese characters. I suspect it's of the "construct a timeline and cross-check motives, opportunities and alibis" variety. If mystery parties are your thing, these might be a great product for you.

I agree with you 100%. Your assessment of the box is perfect. I will get next month's box but only because I bought a three month pre-paid subscription. Which I have since canceled. If you have a group of like-minded friends this may be fun, but for someone looking for puzzles to solve, or mysteries to tease, this is not it.

Are any of you guys looking to offload any of these? I sort of fancy trying them out to see if they suit, but they don't ship to the UK so I've got to try and source something of someone who already has one: and maybe someone fed up with the boxes and wants shot fancies reclaiming some of their cash?

I actually have an extra mystery box from when my month to month subscription overlapped the three month pre-paid subscription. It has never been opened since it was a duplicate. You are welcome to it. Pm me mailing info and I will try to get it out this week. If you want.

A piece of advice mailing one of these from the US to the UK -- if you can get it into an envelope that is less than 5/8" thick, it will be $11-$12 dollars to mail. If you send it in a box, it will be $23-$24. I forward them to a friend in the UK and have become pretty adept at keeping things credibly at 5/8" (my local PO is willing to squint a little). Anyway, consider repackaging it instead of sending it in their big, space-wasting box.

My kids and I met at my son's house last night and decided on The Dragon as our game/case of choice. We're finding these easier than the Sherlock Holmes game cases but still fun in the same game genre. We didn't guess the right suspect because of something stupid we did mid-game, but it was enjoyable. I'm not sure how much longer I'll enjoy paying nearly thirty-five bucks (once shipping is added on) per month, though, for one evening's entertainment when we can find other (cheaper) games to play together. Still, the incense was a bit of an annoyance and we set it aside and out of the way as we played. The cat tried to eat it once, so we had to hide it a little better.
