Discuss the crossword puzzle here. Please provide hints, not answers, and use the Spoiler Tags to hide your hints (Press the button with the face holding a finger to its lips). For example: 26 Down - playground game - If you're out of touch, you won't know it.

I have finally received my omnibus to catchup. When completing the crossword, I noticed that each clue has a number listed for where to write the answer...and a number in brackets after it. For example:
26 Down: Playground Game (8)
For those that have solved many of the puzzles...can you provide a couple of clues about the number in brackets please?

Perhaps I need first to begin with checking a few of my answers to the clues in the crossword. I have an idea of what to do with the words, however, I'm not certain I have the correct answers... I am hoping to have a little more clarification to determine if I've chosen the correct response to the following items: 20 Across - the opposite of noble 10 Down - Rather than late 25 Across - four clues have this as an answer 17 Down - the merrier. Any additional hints for those answers would be helpful.

Any additional hints for those answers would be helpful. Your first step is to fill in the puzzle; the bombers come afterward. Regarding your clues: 20A: This is a word that means ubiquitous, easy to find, appears everywhere 10D: Imminent. 25A: There are four clues with the same answer. You've written this word into the blocks four times- counting this one. 17D: An English idiom: when you have a bunch of people, parties are better.

Many thanks for the help. The additional clues revealed that I had a couple of incorrect answers. Now that I've corrected those and plugged in the correct information, I was able to solve the bomber puzzle as well.
On to the next issue!

Could anyone offer some help on solving the puzzle? I think I have the right words in the puzzle but when I "arrange" them, I come up with nothing. Not sure if I have the wrong answer or if my decoding is wrong

Not sure if I have the wrong answer or if my decoding is wrong Sally, The numbers in parenthesis after the clues give the sequence in which you should arrange the answers. The solution is coherent, but may not be something you completely understand at this point. Let me know if you need more help.

Todd, looking back, I simply had a few wrong answers! Once I got those straight, it all fell into place. However, I greatly appreciate your quick response! You're the best! Thank you!

I solved the crossword puzzle and mostly understand about the brass tags but is there a clue that tells you how many digits from each to use? I've mostly tried variations of two from one and two from the other. as always any help is appreciated!

So, did anyone else notice that there is a 29 and 30 listed in parens in the clues that are have no corresponding words in the actual crossword? I fear that I am way in over my head in doing these puzzles.... -_- Additionally, when I have started to do what I think we are supposed to do with the parentheticals I do not see anything that flows and makes sense creating a clear passage by putting them in the order listed. Maybe 29 and 30 stand alone as their own numerical inserts to the passage? . I am pretty confident with most of the answers on the crossword (though am stumped a bit by 13 (hint?) but that still won't add much to clarify. Yes...this one needs some hand holding until I get more familiar with the process, please! My thanks for any help, however oblique....

The parentheticals are all placed next to the clues with which they are associated. Try again, and I'm sure you'll be able to sort them out in short order. As for 13 Down, think more dual than duel. Don't rush, take your time.
